I Won!!! I Won!!! In Vegas I WON!!!

So this year the Army Morale, Welfare, & Recreation department decided to do a promo with the VNEA Professional Billiards Association. Starting in March there was an 8 week speed pool tournament held on 5 different installations, and the winners at the end of each week, would play eachother in the end and one winner from each of the 5 posts would represent the Army in Las Vegas at the VNEA World Speed Pool Tournament. In total, we had approx. 700 Soldiers, sailors, airmen, marines, and civilians compete, and only 5 could rep the Army. I was one of those 5.

Here are those pics. We were the guests of honor of Dave Pearson (5-time Guiness Book World Record Holder), and we competed in a tournement called the "Army All-stars VS. the Hall Of Famers". The Hall of Famers were amazing. It was a 5 on 5 9-ball tournament held at the Riviera Hotel & Casino. I was so nervous I could barely hold my stick. All in all here's the pics that were finally sent to me, and the event is scheduled to be televised at a date TBD on ESPN2.

They treated us like celebrities and everyone wanted us to sign their shirts. Luckily, we had "war stories" to tell because all of us have been deployed at least once.

They yelled "INCOMING" right before I shot. I almost s**t myself laughing.

Look at those perlie whites!! Me sittin beside Dave Pearson. Great Guy!! He got us VIP at every club we went to in Vegas. Army shirt, Medal's around our necks, and VIP = good times, bad hangovers, and lots of memories that I'm glad we DIDN"T have cameras for

All in all we had a blast. Can't wait til next year...

aww man thats freaking sick. i love Billiards. what kind of cue do you have? i'm not a big bar table fan. i only play on bar tables when i have to play Tournament. i'm more of a 8ft or 7ft table guy. congrats on the win

yea but i've never won that much in Vegas, only been there 3 times but still!!

I bet the experience alone was worth more than 1k

Just a cue that I piicked up as a christmas present. My dad bought me a 9ft when I was 10, so thats where I learned. Never spent more than $75 for a stick. It's not the stick that makes the player, it's the player.

I came up 3400 in craps after being at the table for 6hrs last time i was in vegas
