Aviation Enthusiasts check in

Just curious, who else here on the boards is into aviation? Any pilots, commerical or recreational? Or just plain into flight? I myself am crazy about noise/heat/power/freedom. So all you aviators, check in!

I've never piloted a plane or anything, but I'm into aviation. I plan on being an aerospace engineer.

I like physics, math, and military technology...so I'm looking forward to getting out of high school and getting started with my career.

How long did it take you, where did you get it, and how much did it cost?

Lets see, it took about 3 months (a couple of nights a week after work)
I took the lessons at the local small airport where I live in N. Texas, and all total it cost (and this is just a rough guess) $5,500 - $6,500.

I'm going to college right now to be an Aerospace Engineer. I'm also going to be in the AFROTC at my college and want to be a fighter pilot. As of right now, I'm second in my major :) I think i'm doing pretty well.

I got to Mississippi State University. Best engineering school in the state. Its way too expensive to go out of state to schools I'd want to go to as an alternative. I really do like the major. Having a good group of friends in your major also helps a lot. The other engineering disciplines just don't interest me as much. Hopefully, with a lot of hard work in the ROTC, I'll graduate as an officer in the Air Force and become a fighter pilot. My peers in Aerospace thinking I'm crazy for going into the Air Force, but personally, I think it'll be a great experience and if I don't like it, I can get out in 4 years with experience that'll be worthwhile in another company such as Boeing or Northrup Grumman. I'm about to start my second year in college and I'm pretty excited about it. If you do want to go into engineering of any kind, be prepared for a LOT of math and physics.
