DON'T FLASH HEADLIGHTS AT ANY CAR WITH NO LIGHTS ON!!

Police officers working with the DARE program have issued this
Warning: If you are driving after dark and see and on-coming car
with no headlights on, DO NOT FLASH YOUR LIGHTS AT THEM! This is a
common Bloods member "initiation game" that goes like this: The new
gang member under initiation drives along with no headlights, and
the first car to flash their headlights at him is now his "target.".

He is now required to turn around and chase that car, then
shoot and kill every individual in the vehicle in order to complete
his initiation requirements. Police Depts across the nation are
being warned.

Their intent is to have all the new bloods nationwide drive
around on Friday and Saturday nights with their headlights off. In
order to be accepted into the gang, they have to shoot and kill all
individuals in the first auto that does a courtesy flash to warn
them that their lights are off.

Make sure you share this information with all the drivers in
your family! Please forward this message to all your friends and
family members to inform them about this initiation ritual.

It's an urban legend. Not true. You can believe it or not. I don't. It's been around a long time, I heard this back in the '80s.

I never flash headlights at anyone, especially since we're in CA. Be careful out there guys. There was a couple of these a few miles down south on Azusa from where I live. Newspapers always release stuff about this at this time of year....

...it's actually particularly scary where we are, since we live near the canyons, about half a mile from where the end of th condos are...so we are in an area where no one will hear you if something happens.......

I heard this but it was an urban legend. Instead of gang members it was some crazy dude that would try to run you off the road or something like that. I don't believe it.

It is true. The cops went to my bosses moms house in Long beach and were going door to door telling them not to flash their lights around that area because somebody had just gotten killed over that reason

You will always hear those stories. I just prefer to err on the side of caution, as I've said above, these did happen down South on Azusa, so preferring to stay safe... I don't know anyone who high-beam flashes anyway...not that I need highbeams!

the legend originated a long time ago when the Hells Angels biker gang would allegedly do this as an initiation. Ever since then this has been floating around, and since the internet became huge everyone gets their panties in a wad a couple times a year. There have been statements made by police departments all over the country saying this is not true and is just an urban legend.

In my opnion, isn't a hint for cops to pull a car over for not having his or her headlights turned on. =)
