I'll be getting it, just not tonight. I can't wait to see what they've changed with the recruiting feature in the single person mode. Between this and Madden 08 i'll be a busy guy. By the way i'll look you up on Xbox live. My Gamertag is also the same as my screen name.

I LOVE the pagentry of college sports, the fans, the bands, etc. I like the NFL, but it just doesn't compare.

So far, I'm impressed with the game play. One thing I'm really pleased with is the attention to detail. Tiger Stadium is the only field in D1 with every five yards marked off. Finally the game has that.
The players do seem to run kind of funny, though. Looks like they're knee-high stepping. My only complaint, really, is Live. I've played three games with a friend, all of which were disconnected about ten minutes in. "Lost connection with opponent" or something like that. REALLY annoying. Quote:

I'm not too big into the in depth manager modes. I just want to play football. For those who do want to really get into franchising, etc, there are some really cool features. Apparently (I just read this) the recruiting has been updated where one can keep a close tie on the players that have been contacted or are being scouted. There is also the option of creating a prospect & playing as him in the state's high school playoffs & trying to get the attention of different universities. When signed, the game allows the player to skip ahead to the parts where the character is on the field. A nice touch that cuts down on the unneccesary time watching & not participating. One thing I really like about the idea of the Campus Legend mode is the idea of weighted decisions. The example I read was something to the effect of "Play basketball with friends. Upside = increased agility, down side = knee injury." It's a cool touch, but I'm not sure I like the idea of leaving it all to chance on an RPG'esque addition. The gamer does, however, have the option of skipping these altogether. With all of that said (sorry, I know it's a lot), I'm going play right now & check on those servers again. Quote:

Played two games on Live this afternoon. No issues with disconnecting.
I have found one rather large gripe with the game-- when passing, I can't lead the receiver or throw over his shoulder. Say I have a DB a step behind to the left of my receiver (as it appears on the field) as I'm running a post pattern. Ideally I'd want to throw the ball to the right & in front of the receiver. It's left to chance which is really annoying & makes it damned near impossible to thread the needle over the top of the line backers & between safeties. sgtpruitt, what system will you be playing on?
