almost got pulled over...?

So I was sitting at a red light with 4 other cars (3 lanes, 2 in each lane, one in the far right lane. I was behind the guy in the middle lane.

Light turns green, we all start going... nice and slow. I see a cop on my right side waiting behind a car in the middle lane for his green light. Anyway, about 20 sec later when he gets his green (me always being paranoid.. I had my eye on him this whole time in the rear view). He swerves hard and speeds up, dodging between two cars, coming right up on my ass and then tailgates me for two blocks or so.

Then he kind of swerves right partially into the right lane, swerves back and makes a u-turn.

WHY? I wasn't doing anything that would've distinguished me from the other cars except maybe my hids? The hids that I've never been flashed at for or had cops hassle me about before.

WHY!!!!@!!!@!@!@! It's really annoying me. I was having a good day til i got all stressed when this happened.

...he came up right behidn me and tailgated me for a while... there were no other cars in front because they were all going over the speed limit and i was going exactly the speed limit. i was the only car in the area ...

Probably running your plates. Something the pigs do when they get bored. See a kid in a nice car and run the plates.

i stressed because i saw rip through the intersection and come up behind me really quickly and then tailgate me...

i was thinking wtf did i do, is he going to pull me over? WTF is he tailgating me when i'm the only car. <--that's why i got stressed. I hate getting pulled over. especially if its for no reason. the last time i got pulled over was my first and only speeding ticket 5 months after i got my license. I was also the only car on the road because it was 5 in the morning and i was trying to get to school early. i had cruise controlled 3mph over. got pulled over and ticketed for 15 over. i stress when i see cops, ESPECIALLY when they are tailgating me for no reason.

yah this probably seems about right. i don't know why he had to make it seem so frantic though. with the way he came at me, i swear he was just gonna pull me over right on the spot (or open fire on me -_- lol.)

it sounds like he had a priority call and had to make a quick uturn or something. we get calls all the time that we arent allowed to run lights and sirens to, but we have to get there fast.

yah i've seen police do that often. i also hear they just leave someone even though they pulled them over if they get a call.

but what i wanna know is why he started following me for no reason was it a plate check? i mean this i could understand, but i don't understand the urgency of why he had blast through an intersection and dodge to catch up to me...

it could be something as simple as there was a civic reported stolen in the same color as your car. most people dont know the difference between old civics and the 8th gens. he could have thought yours was it, could be a thousand different things.

also, when you get your plates run consider it a good thing that we do that, cuz if your car ever does get stolen youll want your plates run so they can recover your car.

ah ok. that will help me feel settled. it's just that bad experience i had when i first got my license has just made me overly paranoid of police i think. that's probably why i had to start this thread -_-

yep. i'm sure if i had my si stolen i'd be 10000000x more stressed than i was tonight. lol

could he have been tailgating you cause he wanted you to get out of his way?

I know when i see a cop coming up behind me i try to move over and clear the way for him regardless of if hes got lights on or not

True Story:

A few years ago I was driving through Stowe, Vermont and the speed limit is 25 through there. There was a State Trooper right behind me so I made sure to come to a complete stop at all Stop Signs, looked and allowed pedestrians to cross in the crosswalk, made sure to stay below the speed limit... everything. Well right in the heart of Town I hear the sirens and then the flashing blue light went on... I was like "what did I do wrong???" So anyways I slow down and pull over, the State Trooper then guns it past me... then turns off his lights and continues on his merry way.

At the time I was like .. "whew! he's not after me!".... then I thought, "He's not supposed to do that!" then I got angry and swore a few times and continued on my way too.

Why is he not supposed to do that? what if he had a call like MordeKyle said and you was in his way going BELOW the speed limit....



I hope some day you all NEED the police and then maybe you will feel sorry for calling htem pigs and such.....
