I have succesfully completed the first half of my journey: Santa Ana to NY
I-15 to the I-40 to the I-81 to the I-287

CA desert at 12 am is pretty boring

yawnnnnnnnnn it looked like this for 4 hours straight.......

yay sun

Arizona is pretty nice

and kinda boring....

it rained a little bit in new mexico

new mexico is pretty boring

passing 18 wheelers........all day long

Oklahoma was pretty foggy

This is pretty much all i saw of Tennessee and Virginia

Washington DC yay

Pennsylvania...yawn.

The trip back should be a lot more exciting...with better pictures.

did you wrap your car with a plastic bag? Trying to keep the scratches down or what?

It looks like you just paraphrased all of the roads in Napoleon Dynamite in the photos. What was your cruising speed? Stay safe and have fun during the trip!

...Just thought of it, you should record the journey! Buy a cheap tripod and head to the DIY section! I want to see 4 hours of crap road!!!!

Guess the painter's tape worked!

The painters tape worked fine. nothing made it through the layers of tape....and it peeled right off. Interstate driving.........isnt terribly exciting....its like driving through a repeating background while dodging trucks.

Crusing speed...usually about 5 over the speed limit, or whatever the flow of traffic in the passing lane is. In the night stints....I would find a truck that was hauling arse (usually about 85 or so) and follow them...they seem to know whats going on.

I'd imagine that'll hook you up for gas milage too, since the friction of air is less when following something.

Why the cross-country trip?

+rep on the drive! I don't think I would be able to do that without 2 extra nights for rest!

More like every single racing venue in the entire existence of motorsport.

Yeah, I actually try to get behind vans and larger cars to slipstream a little. It's not like F1, where it could make 10mph difference, but little things like that will save you money in the end...
