PROMOTION!!!How much can you guess?
Guys!!!

About 5 minutes ago my boss came up to me and pulled me to a corner in our offices and wispered "You got it" WHOOOAA!

I applied for this position and so did like 19 people.... some who have been here 5 years longer than me!!

I'ts a significant salary raise I think too because right now I'm pay grade 12 and this is paygrade 15

WHOOO HOOOO

Can anyone guess what that would amount to? each pay grade??

i dont know weather you are joking or not...but i would hope he is making more than 15k salary....and if that the differnce in pay between 12 and 15 rate....you must be kidding also. that is an unbeleiveable raise.

what i meant is your increase will be 15k per year (on top of what you already make) i know here to go up 2 pay grades at pepsi isnt much at all and im in IT

I KNOW!!! Dude!! Worst thing about this is my boss told me not to mention it to NO ONE!

I feel such relief..... I was saving up for a house and thought i would have to rent for another 6 months. I'm so freaken happey! too bad I cant tell anyone... thats why I came to the OCHO!!! Only buddies I can tell!!!

Not hating or anything, I have never seen anyone get a promotion and not discuss salary. If I were you I would be asking your boss not us lol. Also most company have web sites that show pay grades for positions, salaries and salary cap. Check into that.

Ok that makes more sense...

I'm not sure thats probably about right 15k raise... but it all depends on how much each paygrade increase is... I moved up 3 grades... so can anyone figure that one out and take a guess?

We have a website but it does not discuss the "amount" of each pay grade because with in each pay grade there is low-medium-high of each pay grade. Right now I think its kind of un ethical to ask my boss dont you think?

yes after reading that he told you in secret, then I would not bring it up again. Just live it up in your mind and be glad. congrats! Also seems you have a foot in with a manager, keep it that way. Always good to have atleast one on your side =:}

that could almost be considered dipping your pen in the office ink, careful lol. Unless he is trying to pawn her off on you, and giving you a raise will better her life as well. Who knows lol.

I didnt catch what they both meant till a day later.... I put the 2 and 2 together.

I remember I had tought a class and her daughter was in it a few days before.
