Salad with rocks
Hey guys I have a question, hoping maybe someone around here may have some advice.
I was eating salad yesterday one of those Fresh Express you buy at the store, and while eating it ran in to a rock, ouch! right away. I spit the thing out its the size of a small ball bearing maybe 3mm it hurt right away, I took a look at my tooth and its cracked, F**k so now I'm pissed. Let me tell you this is not the first time I ran in to a rock with this salad last time I thought it was part of the chicken I had put in there but I spit it out and never found out what it really was.. but this time I got the evidence.. Its a rock. I wash the salad and everything before making my plate this sucker must of been wrapped on the one of the salad chunks. Now I have to go to the dentist. What should I do contact the customer service dept? I know this sounds stupid but, dentist is not cheap! I already know this is going to cost 500-1000 even with my insurance.. Dam it its going to hurt.. What should I do? what should I tell them if I call them? |

Could you ask your dad what I need to do? I really dont know how to go about this. I called them and the machine says they are closed even though I'm calling in their open hours. I tried taking a picture with macro mode but it still looks blurry I'll try again. |

About the up close pic of the rock...
You need to use macro mode but have it on a stand of some kind, it will be very sensitive to your movement in macro mode. I'm no photo genius but that is how my digi cam works...need a stable base for macro mode. Good Luck! |

Damn, as if all of us on the 8th weren't already going crazy over rock chips.Really, sorry about the tooth, that's a really unfortunate situation. I do think you should seek compensation if you can, but my gut feeling says you're probably not going to get very far unless this salad is advertised as ready-to-eat right out of the bag. I noticed you saying you washed it, so I'm assuming it wasn't ready-to-eat. Wouldn't the company just blame the incident on the lack of thoroughness of your washing? I mean, have you ever tried washing fresh spinach?(referring to sand/rocks, not E.Coli) Again, this is definitely not to discourage you - I think you should give this one the necessary rounds, but just something to consider as you develop your case to the salad company. Good luck with pictures(post!) and contacting Fresh Express. Let us know what happens. |
