I don't have too much time to watch tv so I've only seen a few episodes of family guy...but I've seen most South Park so I think that's funnier...

both shows are good but are completely different types of humor.
Family guy is an easier to watch less edgy show that most people can get and not feel offended by.
On the other hand South Park goes beyond Family guy in its jokes and can get some people really offended but the comedy is pure classic.
I personally like both shows but each in their own right, if im watching family guy i know im in for fun and South Park im in for hilarity.

family guy throws in random unrelated bits of humor that is funny but not "south park funny". South park actually touches on topics/ current events and blends it with a genious level of comedy.

Both shows are great but south park takes the cake in my book. South Parks episodes most of the time have a valid point and build humor around that. Family guy is just a bunch of "interchangeable random jokes one after another" which is still funny, but its def no south park.
