Valet punks

I was invited to a pretty high class tennis/golf club in S. CA to play some tennis with some friends. There is a hotel right next to the club. Obviously they have valet service. Fortunately I did not choose to valet my car as I am cheap and didn't want to shell out a few bucks for these punks . As I was walking out to get my car at the regular parking, I saw these valet punks driving through speed bumps probably over 30 mph to the valet parking lot. The sound of metal hitting the pavement just made me crinch. I just felt bad for that Lexus and Corvette owners. They would never know how those two valet punks drove their cars .

I NEVER valet my car. Once I was going to meet some friends at a club but the only parking available when I got there was valet. I drove back home, lol.

I'm too protective of my car to have it be valet.

i used to valet and we wouldn't drive over speedbumps... we were pretty good with cars the worst thing we would do is take them around the corner and test acceleration in a straight line... but never speedbumps at 30, never... that's probably why the owner got good business, he had good people.

thats why the one time my dad valet parked the s2k we were glad it was the old guy who didn't look like a crazy driver

but today I saw a service person at the dealer launch a new Si with the plastic still on it leaving the dealership

I also noticed that my car got 8 miles on it while doing an oil change

Valets are not the only ones. I've seen some service advisors at the dealership do that.

And you didn't say anything why?

Unless you brought it in for a noise while driving and they needed to test drive it..

believe me, give your average valet a car thats obviously fast, and they'll beat on it.

My buddy's little sister valets for a really expensive restaurant. She and her co-workers beat the hell out of Ferrari's, Bentleys and so on. I've personally seen a RR Phantom slide sideways

*waiting for The Shishpanik to chime in*

I think it depends on the people working, not sure if you can generalize about valet's driving your car horribly. Just like any other profession.

i throw the guy parking it another 10-20 dollars to keep it in front

1. so they dont have to drive it far
2. so i can come out of wherever i am and make sure its ok
3. Because i love my cars more then my family... if my house were on fire . I would actually HONK to let them know .

No. I'm not generalizing. The point is you don't really know how these valet people treat your car after you hand them your keys. It's just sad that how some of these valets treat other people's personal properties like crap.

I've done valet before. Giving your car to valet is almost like handing your keys to a stranger...... You dont know what the eff they are gonna do. Some actually park it civilized and some actually will beat on it. You are actually better of valeting a $45,000 benz before a civic Si. Valets love to beat on cars that have any sport designation..

Your best bet is to throw them a $10 and say "show me where to put it up front". Do not give your keys to these guys. Some of them will rob your shit, beat on your shit, and worst case scenario hit your SHIT!! LOL. i've witnessed all these things happen

oh and BTW there was a valet guy at my company that crashed a car and smashed up the rear tail lights and bumper etc gave it back to the customer without ever saying "hey i smashed up the back of your car". Customer drove off and never had a clue... they probably realized it the next day or something and were clueless as to how it happened...
