OMG I live for moments like this. One of my dialysis patients was recently called for kidneys! I love it! Ive had 2 other patients in the 2 years that Ive been in this field get transplants. Way cool!

Tell him hang in there and have a blast!

He is still very critical (of course) but has been sort of coming out of it lately. He's still very sedated for the pain. His color is better and he is much less swollen.

These are all very good signs and I hope by tuesday that my other best friend and I can go and visit him.

He actually managed to get them That is fantastic. I've heard that donor waiting lists can be agonizing it takes so long. I wish him the best. I wonder how big his grin will be when he can breathe fine for the first time in ages.

Haven't updated lately because I've been really busy visiting the hospital and working.

He was moved two days ago out the of MICU and into the Pediatrics unit (he likes it better there, heh) and his right chest tube was pulled on monday. The left tube is supposed to come out today, but we will see.

His blood sugar is stabilizing, he had an episode yesterday but he's good now.

He is constantly doing physical therapy consisting of small exercises and walking around his room. He really wants to get better in order to go home.

The doctors are amazed at how well he's doing and say he could be home by the weekend.

Thanks again for all of your thoughts and/or prayers.
