Attn: CPA's, Consultants, Business Owners

I know this is a Civic forum but we have a wide variety of occupations here...
I'm a programmer working for a consulting company in the Chicago area but will be moving to Temple, TX in a couple of weeks while at the same time becoming independent. Luckily my company up here is letting me work remotely as a subcontractor so I'll be working from home and keeping current client relationships (hopefully for some time).
1. I have already established a business (LLC) in Delaware since there are favorable laws for business owners.
2. I plan on searching for a CPA when arriving in Texas to help with taxes, write-offs, and general business issues. Should I find a local accountant or go with a big company? What can I expect to spend on one?
3. The web domain name for my company has been reserved. There's no immediate need for a site but I didn't want someone else to "steal" it
4. Do you think that I will need to register my business locally since I'm not opening up a shop or anything?

Any hints, tips, and advice will be greatly appreciated!

I agree with MBK, you should look for a local accountant. When you go for your initial consultation, you will ge a feel for the firm.
As far as how much to expect to pay, it all depends on the level of service you need. Talk with the accountant during your interview and ask how they bill, what kind of ings they charge for, etc. I'd give you an estimate but the accountant I work for overcharges for our tax services.

I know in PA and in NJ you have to register your business locally if you are conducting business there. Business are required to register here eve if they are strictly working from home.

Sorry for the la of detail, but it all depends on your situation. PM me if you have need more detail. I'll need more info to give more detail.

Thanks. I just took on a new task for now... Recieved a draft contract and it requires that I carry 3 kinds of liability insurance (workers comp, commercial general liability, and errors & omissions).

Absolutely
That reminds me, it's weird how up here nobody knows about Chick-Fil-A or H.E.B., and hasn't had Jack in the Box in 20 yrs, and in Texas there's no Portillos or WhiteCastle. Sort of like the twighlight zone sometimes.
When were first arrived in IL I was getting directions and the guy told me to make a right at the Jewel. I said "The what?"
