I love Kanye's beats, He is super talented on the MPC, absolutely no doubt, but as a rapper, bleghhhh. I used to say he's hip-hop for people who don't really like hip-hop, if that makes sense. Sub-par rhymes, where's the word play? The dope storytelling? Sick lines?! (I will admit, "mayonaisse benz, I push miracle whips" is ******* ILL though) I will definitely give him this though, he is light years better than The Game. My biggest beef with Kanye is just the fact that he is so full of himself... and the rhymes reflect it. It's okay if you are Rakim, not Kanye. lol. Did you hear "I Still Love H.E.R." which is I suppose, a continuation of "I Used To Love H.E.R." by Common? Absolute disgrace! But I digress...

I don't want to prove some "mad OG hip-hop" style I may or may not have... but... whatever man. 90's hip-hop was the ******* golden era, the best stuff to ever come out. I will give a listen to whats going on now, because some of it is listenable. Some. Barely any. Not one of these guys out there have half the skill that people like Big L, Lord Finesse, Rakim, Tribe, AZ (still around tho!), Count Bass D, MF DOOM, De La (also still kickin!), Heiro, Wu-Tang, Ohmega Watts, Organized Konfusion, Dilla, Pete Rock&CL, etc... had/still have.
