what if my stock hood gets damaged, accident, tree, or anything else that a insurance co would pay for. if i wanted them to cover the damage is it possible to pay for the difference of a carbon fiber hood,

no the only reason why i ask is my buddy is always sayin that if he gets smashed up then hes goin to get cf hood instead of a regular one, i just wanted to hear some of you guys

If he's given the check to do it yes, but now and days the check is given directly to the body shop. If he's given the check then he can do as he pleases as long as he gives proof the body work was done to fix his car.

as far as i know you are free to do what you want with the insurance check. there is nothing saying you have to fix your car. When my beat got vandalized i didn't fix it, i used the money to mod my other car.

Depends on the insurance's policy. Some people take the check and use it to pay the rent..

.. so a CF hood is a little more logical. I think a CF hood would cost less than an oem hood... so I'd at least get one that you could maybe paint later if you had to :] haha.

make sure to tell the adjuster that you want the replacement value for an OEM hood. A lot of times they will give you the value of a lesser quality(cheaper) OEM replacement.

I got the wheels stolen off my gsr. AAA paid $2400 to replace the factory alloys. I said you could give me 2000 and i'll just go get some wheels but they said thats not how we do it. I got my deck and sub stolen and they just cut me a check for that. The car flooded and they cut me a check for it being totaled that included the price of all the mods i had on the car. They are weird sometimes but they always have my back when poopies hits the fan.
