Learned Standard!

Hey guys, I just wanted to share that as of today, I CAN DRIVE M/T!! I work at a mazda dealership and today it was SLOWWW! only 1 car sold. anyway me and my friend were bored and he decided that he was going to teach me. we went to the back lot and drove around for like 30 min and I got the hang of it after stalling only once!! IT IS THE SH*T!!!! btw how many people can say that they learned stick on a brand new 2007 Mazda Speed3 with 5 miles on it?? those things are smooth as eggs! and the stock exhaust sound like sex

That's pretty awesome. But, it's one thing to get the hang of it in a back lot....it's another thing to get the hang of it on the street with other cars around you.

Dang, People. Look, Yes, it does bite it for the person getting the car. Yes, savicicEX will still have to master driving a stick in traffic and on hills but could you be just a tiny bit supportive with your posts? I don't care if you get tired of newbs, other people's posts, celebrating or any of that crap. Believe me, I get to see more of it than you do and I can still maintain some tact and can support someone else's acheivements.

savicEX, good job on picking it up pretty quick. I'll be honest, it took me longer than a day. I would recommend that in the future, use an older more well beaten car. While a new MS3 is nice, would you want to be the person buying that? Congrats again.

Congrats, but still it makes me feel weary that people are actually learning M/T on cars that are about to be sold as brand new

Congratulations... I remember the first day I learnt stick, I was so frustrated! I can never go back to automatic now. I have a tendency to look for a third pedal when I start an automatic.

no you dont. you ALWAYS should, but you dont have too. i put in neutral and then roll into the ebrake, then put it in gear. alot of people just leave it in 1st or 2nd or whatever they were in and then pull the ebrake. in that situation the ebrake wont make any difference unless the gears fail.
