so you created a login password, and he figured it out?
create another password, but create something good. "Choosing a Strong Password Choosing a password is not that scary, if you choose it so you can remember it and nobody can figure it out, easily. There are a few rules when choosing a password, keep them in mind. 1.Pick a word that has meaning to you, but would still be hard to guess, example, a favorite character in a play, or a flower, or a childhood pet. 2.Pick a password that is at least 6 characters long. For these examples, let's use Fluffy as our pet's name 3.Mix up the cases of the letters in your password, FLUFFY is different than fluffy so is, Fluffy, FluFFy, FluffY etc. 4.Add Numbers to the string. fluffy1 is much more secure because Fluffy might be in a dictionary but they would be hard pressed to find fluffy1. We now know that this can be extremely easy to guess so lets take it up a notch. 5.Character Replacement. Character replacement is a great way to stump the password crackers, it is simply replacing a letter with another so you can still remember it. For example, take Fluffy1 and replace the 'l' (lowercase letter L) with a 1 (Number One). 6.Add Random Characters. Adding a random character anywhere in the password is another great technique. Simply add a 1 or a # at the beginning, middle or end of the password for added protection. For example we can now have F1uff#y as our password. I know that this is starting to look complicated, but it really is for your protection. The Internet is becoming a scary place and you never really know what is going take place next. As we devote more and more of our lives to the Internet a little extra security has to be considered. I am not asking you to consider having a password like @#$jf82Xx991, though it wouldn't hurt. By using taking a word like fluffy, adding 2 numbers, and capitalize 1 character as a minimum, you will be much more secure that if you just had fluffy." www.habaneronetworks.com |
