Unhappy Broke a bone near my ankle..sucks!

..Fractured my fibula and tore a ligament near my right ankle! My gas foot!..it sucks, not so much the pain, that was only a day or two...but moving around on crutches and being in a splint...shit really sucks. Im going for Surgery to get a metal plate to mend the fracture and then back to the splint for about to weeks, before i can even walk again! I guess its not too bad, just hope i can recover in a month. This happened a day after i installed all new brakes Hawk HPS plus pads, and i was suppose to autocross this weekend. Anyone else go through something similar?

That sucks bro! We're all hoping for a speedy recovery. By the way, your left foot is your gas foot?!

How'd it happen?

I understand the confusion now. It's a reflection in the mirror. I thought it was a straight on shot.

Dude you will be fine. I clean and sterilize insterments for the OR for a living. The standards for sterilization are very high and we are always trying to find ways to make them higher. We are a small mom and pop hospital group and we do like 15 ORIF a month (type of surgery where screws and plates ar put in). So if you go to a big hospital they probably do 15 a week, you will be in good hands. Plus they say the drugs make you feel gooooooooood. Best of luck to you.

You better let me have the keys to your car while you recover. We don't want it getting lonely.

I'm fortunate enough to have never been seriously injured. I've been playing basketball and football for 10+ years and I'd say the worst injury I've had was a bad ankle sprain.

I guess eating lots of cereal + milk as a kid turned out to be helpful.

Doesn't sound too bad of a fracture if they told you only two weeks with the cast after surgery..what hapened to regular cast only recovery?? Medicine is very advanced in this country, but it is way to commercialized..these days seems like every doctor wants to add metal plates for all type of fractures

Hope you recover fast Gil, you'll be set for the next auto X

well guys the surgery was cake. the sugeons did what they had to do, and i was out of the recovery room in half hour..now im just resting for a lil. And mike, the cast was an option but since i also tore a ligament they were suggesting the surgery to heal faster and to better align the bones..if i went the cast only route then that would've been 6 weeks in FULL LEG cast with no guarntee that the bones would align properly, and then the surgery soo it would've put me out much longer.
