Universal garage door openers

Can anyone teach me about garage door openers? My parents have both remotes that open the garage door. My car goes in the garage and i'm tired of getting in and out of the car to open and close the door. I wanna buy an extra remote.... is this possible? are there any universal remotes that i can buy that will open/close my garage?

yeah there are....I actually have 1. U have to see if it's compatible with ur garage opener
