F-U Pizza Pizza [long rant inside]
This is for all the people that work in any kind of customer service related environment... whether it's a restaurant, store, or whatever.
I went to Pizza Pizza today at 1:10 to get two free slices of Pepperoni pizza as they honour your tickets after the Sens win a game (within 24 hours). I show up, there's no Pepperoni left, they offer me cheese, I say no thanks, how long for Pepperoni. 20 minutes. I say I'll wait. While waiting for the pizza to be made, a couple come in, and another guy with 2 tickets from last night's game come in (so 4 tickets total). They also wish to wait for pepperoni. At this point I"d probably already waited 15 minutes. So, the girl comes out with one slice of pepperoni, I said I asked for two. She says, I only saw one ticket. I say, well I have two tickets, so I need two slices. Her, and I quote "We don't have pepperoni, you can have cheese". I tell her I want two pepperoni, that's what I came in for, I asked they make the pizza, I waited. So I'll take another pepperoni slice. Her, and the guy in the back proceed to tell me there is no other pepperoni and that I will have to wait 20 minutes again. WTF?! I"m not waiting 40 minutes for 2 slices of pizza. So then the guy comes out with the four slices for the other people, while I'm standing right there. NOw, I could have been really problematic and said that one of those was mine, but I didn't want to drag those people into it. I didn't think that was fair, and I'm sure they were as hungry as me. At this point, they're pretty much ignoring me while I stand at their counter. I let them serve other people and such and just stand there. So then he brings out some other kind of slices and puts them in the little display thingy. I say to the girl I will take any two slices that he just brought out and I will leave. She says they can't do that. Cheese or pepperoni. What's the difference, really?! I know they wanted me gone, I was trying to reach a "happy" medium. Then the guy comes out and tells me they have no more pepperoni and I should go somewhere else. Are you kidding me?!?!? Honestly, I don't even know where another location is because I ALWAYS go to that one. Seriously, I had boxes piled high from my bro and I getting their medium walk-in special like every other night. I tell the guy I'm not leaving and that I don't know where there's another one, and he lifts his arm and points in a random direction. So I'm still standing there, and he says, wait he'll make another... I wait... I call my dad who was at home waiting for the slice because he wanted them. I didn't take him with me 'cause he's in a wheelchair so too much fuss for a usually quick pizza run. The guy at the store tells me to call customer relations, but doesn't give me a number. I don't call, I know it's pointless. So I'm standing there, and then he says "okay, I'll make a pizza". I must have been standing for 10 minutes already and he'd lead me to believe that he was already making one!!! So I call stupid customer relations. I tell the guy, he's all apologetic. Puts me on hold. I can see the pizza guy on the phone with them in the back. He looked all frustrated. So the customer relations guy comes back and says sorry, they shouldn't act like that, they'll make it etc. I say I want compensation, like a free pizza or something. He says he can't do that. He'll put me through to the supervisor. So, I wait for the supervisor... in the meantime, I get my slices. The girl doesn't apologize, nor does the guy. I walk out and leave. I didn't swear, yell or anything. I probably should have. So, I'm driving home and I get through to the "supervisor". I explain the whole thing again. Long story short, he apologizes some more, says they shouldn't do that. I ask for compensation, he says they don't do that. I say I basically work the same job, just different industry. These people don't care. Their manager MIGHT talk to them, and if he does, they wont care. I know what it's like, a slap on the wrist, ya okay whatever, especially with the horrible attitude the people had to begin with. So I tell the customer service rep this and say I'm not happy, I feel like nothing has been done, that I'm starving, I'm going to eat my pizza, and never go back there again. Sorry for the length, but it took an HOUR to get two slices; that were SHITTY!!! Worst slices ever. Hardly any cheese or sauce. If you're going to run a promo for people to get free pizza the day after the hockey team wins, and you just came off the lunch rush, they should make sure they have enough slices around. I didn't mind the initial 20 minutes because it meant it would be fresh, but the whole stuff after was ridiculous. The girl working there screwed up and they turned it around trying to say it was basically my fault. Now my whole day is screwed. I was supposed to take my dad out somewhere, but that whole thing took too long because he needed to be back by 4 and it wouldn't have been enough time because that took an hour. Anyways, just needed to vent. Share your thoughts. Bad customer service experiences. Whatever. I'm trying to figure out what to do to either piss them off more or get something free... CN: I waited an hour for two slices of pizza. They were shit. "Customer relations" says they do not compensate for such situations. Asshats. Last edited by Si_Chick; 05-15-2007 at 10:59 PM. |

...from a long time employee in the service businesses... They are giving away free pizza, and they had free pizza; cheese pizza. You're expecting too much from a promo giveaway. There is no way that they can anticipate how many people with tickets will claim the prize (pizza) so they basically make the pies to order and offer you what they have. Somewhere in the fine print of the pizza giveaway is a disclaimer, I'm sure, limiting the redeemer of the prize to stocks on hand. Lighten up and take the free slices of cheese next time. Your body won't miss the extra fat that the pepperoni would have added, and you won't waste your time, the most valuable commodity ever... P.S. It is always wise to treat those preparing your food as nicely as you can. Especially when you can't see them all of the time. |

YES. If you saw the cheese you wouldn't have taken it either!
It looked like it had been there since they opened at 11am! And jonesthewine why do you think I stood at the counter? You can see right in the back where they make the pizza. How gross you even suggest that. |

Well since you're in Ottawa, I would have raises a stink and started showing as you would have the crowd in your favour:
"The Senators with the game and you can't honour your deal for a free slice of pizza?" "Do you not respect Ottawa?" "Maybe you would honour this in Toronto but show some respect for the sens!" |
