(i didn't read thru most of the replies)

wow, that's shitty customer service. that's the kind of service that makes you feel jaded to the rest of the small hole in the wall pizza places in the rest of the world and can enhance certain stereotypes about certain cultural communities. while i do commend you for sticking to your guns and demanding what you want, it does make me concerned that something could happen to your food (ever seen the movie "waiting"?) honestly, i wouldn't be able to maintain my composure with that long of a wait. i would be VERY vocal about my feelings, especially after a customer AFTER you receives the very item you so desired. unfortunately, b/c you're getting something for free, there's no chance in hell for compensation (0 x 1 million is still 0).

They spit on those slices.

Similar situation happened to me at a 24hr burger king..

I asked for 3 chicken sandwiches and I could visibly see a chicken on the COUNTER.. not even being heated
( i worked at BK when i was like 16 so its supposed to be in a heated area)...

She drops 2 fresh ones... so i yell over like yo... i wanted 3, she points to that one....
I yell for the manager..he comes over.. i explain that shes already dropping 2... i dont want one thats been out on a bare table.

He agree's & orders her to make a third.

This bitch REFUSES!.... could barely even speak english.

Her and the manager get into it, and i jump in. I'm like Listen Numbuku.. if you dont like yoru F'ing job..F'ing quit.
Your job is to make the food. Thats it. If there was another way for me to get the food.. i would but i can't , I'm stuck dealing with you.
Don't take it out on me cause you made the wrong life decisions.

She bugs out... manager yells at her & fires her on the spot

THOSE CHICKENS WERE YUMMMMY!

BRB lemme search my files, i snapped a pic of her while i was arguing ( just came from the jersey shore and was a little wasted) lol

Shes behind the dude

That's what the **** I'm talking about! You just told a seriously awesome story, and maybe if more people were like this instead of just laying down and taking it all then these places would be more inclined to hire halfway productive/decent people.
I can't even begin to tell you some of the obscenities(sp) that have been exchanged between myself and various other fast food workers. I'm like Caliguy, I was raised to be polite and I show it more often than not. If I'm having a bad day I don't act like an ass, I just generally am not as polite as usual. That being said, if I address someone using manners I damn well expect to be paid the same amount of respect back.. and if they don't I make it very well known that I'm upset with the lack of common decency that person obviously has. The sad thing is, you can't really blame this on any one group of people (not meaning race) so there isn't any obvious fix. Some mothers just don't teach their children respect and the rest of us have to live in a world with another jerk-off in the pile of douschebags that IMO are ruining this country.
Point blank, people have been given too much freedom and have learned every way to exploit that freedom.. which turns into people thinking that acting in this manner is making some sort of statement rather than thinking that it's as wrong as it actually is. This is just another one of the many reasons why I would rather live in Europe.. at least they still have some respect for the average Joe walking down the street. God forbid respect is expected from someone on our side of the pond.

I'm going to quit now, because I could rant about this for days on end.

Cliffs:
The fact that common respect among people these days is not to be expected makes me angry as hell and want to move. lol.

That's a really strong statement. I had plenty of freedom growing up, and my parents taught me how to make my own decisions and i've even tried stuff like drinking and smoking with them. In addition to parenting, it's also a person's inherent attitude that judges whether they are a f**k up or not. I'm extremely polite to everybody, even though I don't care about the people I'm valeting for, working with etc. etc. just because that's what I feel is right. Some people have a high and mighty impression of themselves and don't feel like others are due any respect, but it's impossible to point the cause of this to "freedom" or "the american way". I was raised with plenty of freedom, but my parents kept reinforcing to me that even though I have all this freedom, I shouldn't abuse it or let it get to my head.

Sorry, end of rant. I agree with you guys that it sucks to not get any respect, but when you're dealing with cash strapped people making $7/hour and most likely working overtime while hating their job, you have to understand. Although they have no right to be rude, they are probably having a difficult time with their own lives which is why it may permeate into their customer service lives. I'm not a dick, because my life in general is pretty good and I have respect for others, but there's no reason to get upset about poor customer service.

Also, sorry, I am continuing to rant, but NEVER EVER Piss off anyone dealing with your food. I've seen and experienced things from working at caribou coffee/starbucks that I don't want to happen to anyone on this site. And also, some customers are straight up bitches. At starbucks a bunch of times, I was accused of giving bad customer service because there was a huge line of people and only a few employees. WTF are we supposed to do in a situation like that? I hate it when customers yell at employees for things out of their control, if you do that, you're a f**kin tool and should crash your car coming out of the lot.

Yeah, I got plenty of crap for stuff like that. I've been given an attitude based on the prices of drinks/merchandise. Those people are tools, I just give them the most asshole remarks haha like "Yeah, because I make the prices don't I?"

^ Ya, I've been yelled at basically for being female and working in automotive... and there was no "man" around. Believe me, I know what douche customers are like, hence why I kept my "cool" in this situation. I was also alone; had I had a posse, who knows what would have went down. But I was honestly thinking back to the tools I've dealt with, and was thinking, I don't want to be that person for these people, but they just flipped for no reason.

As for me not being "allowed" to complain (specifically at Batang); tell me WHY THE **** NOT?! LIke I said before, free country, promo they offered to garner business. I'm still a customer... I didn't get what I was supposed to in a timely fashion. I have the right to complain.
And as for him spitting in my food, are you all try to just piss me off. Like I said before (although it may have gotten deleted) I watched him the entire time, I didn't leave their counter and you can see right into the kitchen.

I'm sorry to hear about that Si_Chick. Places like that always try to screw you with those kind of promotions.

I had a horrible experience at Arby's. I went there through the drive-thru and ordered a chicken sandwich combo meal and an order of curly fries and a large water bottle (my brother was with me) so i pull up to the first window and pay, it was $12.61, so i payed with a $20. The lady (in her late 50's) took forever to put the money in the register and give me my receipt, well over 5 minutes. So she comes back with my receipt and i pull up to the next window. As we wait there, i realize she did not give me my change, and it didn't cross my mind at the window because she took forever to give me my receipt and i was just glad to move to the next window. I say to my brother, did the lady give me my change, and he said no she didn't (he wasn't paying too much attention tho) so when the guy comes to the window with our food, i told him the woman did not give me my change back. He called over the lady, and she came to the window, and i said to her, you forgot to give me my change, and she says, not i didn't. I insisted that she did forget, so the manager then comes to the window now and gives me the food, and says that i need to park my car, and come into the restaurant and wait at the front counter while they check the register. I do so, and i'm standing there for almost 15 minutes, so the lady and manager come over to me and said the register was not off, therefore, she didn't forget to give me my change. I said well, i know she did not, this is absolutely ridiculous, you people need to get your acts together, and then i just walked out and drove away. I figured they were going to stand their ground so there was no point in arguing. That was in March, and i have yet to return to that Arby's.

Speaking of store/retail experiences, who here flirts like none other with cute employees? I love doing that and making them feel uncomfortable when their manager is around hahaha

Why..
I'm about to post a copy of the ticket
I also left out a significant detail where the pizza guy actually mocked me in a way... I was going to include that to get my point about the rudeness across
People are sharing their stories as well...like Type X (hilarious, pics too!) and RockaLittle...

Alrighty, said ticket... which she actually took, and we'd already made copies.

I obviously blocked out any personal info. And I'll just say right away that the fine print all has to do with the hockey game and nothing to do with the Pizza.

And these are the "details" I found at the website
Free pizza with every home playoff win!

For every home playoff win, each fan in attendance at the game can redeem their ticket stub for a free slice of cheese or pepperoni pizza. This promotion is valid beginning the DAY AFTER the qualifying game, and is valid for 24 hours at all traditional restaurants. Offer not valid at any Scotiabank Place locations.
