I bet the kids working there make less than $8/hour (USD). When I worked for $7/ hour I didn't give a flying f**k. I would talk back to customers giving me attitude. Probably the reason I turned into a manager :)

Guy or girl that whines over free stuff is stupid...that's all. Sorry didn't mean to offend you. I even edited my post above

The key is holding on to the coupon until you have to pay then spring it on them. Then they treat you like a paying customer and not a tight wad trying to get free stuff.

Its the only way to do it. Once I used a free entree coupon at a really nice seafood place in the Biltmore. Got a $40 lobster. Just put the coupon and the credit card in the payment book and I was on my way. Had I told him I had a coupon he probably would have treated my like a homeless man in the Hilton.

BTW How much crap is the Stoudemire and Diaw suspensions... saw you avy and thought of it. I really think we will come out blazing tonight. We need a big game from Barbosa and Marion...and of course Nash's usual 24 pts 15 assts.

Not unless they ask to see it right away. And they were the hockey tickets, that's the coupon... and I printed mine from my e-mail, so they knew right away when I came in with a 8.5X11 sheet of paper what I was looking for.

You gotta understand most people working retail/food services don't give a **** about you, especially whiny bitchy customers. So you can't expect anybody to do something out of the ordinary for you, especially if you don't tip them. I hated giving away free drinks (because of promos) at caribou coffee/starbucks because all it meant was more work and people weren't decent enough to tip the people working extra hard. So I'm sorry, but no sympathy from me.
That is just the problem with so many things these days. No one gives a flying ****. So what are you being paid for? Valet parking is a bad example, you're being paid to park cars. My job however, service advisor, which like I said can be similar to many others in terms of the aspect of customer service provided, the way I treat a customer is of the utmost importance. I mean, they are usually spending no less than $20 and sometimes multiple thousands of dollars. So, this is where I gain my thoughts/perceptions about how a customer should be treated.

That being said, yes I went for a FREE promo. But regardless, the way I was raised is to treat others as I want to be treated. I've had so many customers jerk me around at my work because I work in Automotive and I'm female. I tried to be nice, if it went too far, then ya, they got some attitude, but only if they were blatantly rude to me in the first place.
I shouldn't have to tip someone to get good service. They should treat people with respect, do their job.. what they're paid to do.

Can you honestly say you wouldn't have been pissed if you were me in this situation!? I really doubt it. Think about it, anyone gets pissed when they get bad service, free or $1000 worth.

Honestly, I do treat people with respect, it's when they don't when I fire back. But as a customer at a store, you can't expect too much, and don't get upset enough about something to rant on the internet for it. I love you Si_Chick, you know you being my boo-boo bear and all, but poor customer service is everywhere, that's what you have to deal with for paying reasonable prices for products. Because you're saving money, the company is saving money by taking kids who've never had a job before willing to make only $6.50 an hour. And if you're not treated with respect, it's their bad. Only you can control the way you act, and you shouldn't let some punk-ass kids ruin your day because they have a shitty job.

Just my $.02.

Point being: If you get shit from anyone, fire back, even if you are an employee (that's my style )

Exactly... I only hassled them after they hassled me.
And I'd like to point out that this was the middle of the day, so it wasn't "kids" working, it was actually two grown adults.
Many of the pizza places here are run by our large Middle Eastern population. Don't take this as racism, I'm just making a point that they weren't punk ass kids, but grown adults who should know how to act.

if there is a "free pizza" available, you can get it for free with out question, but asking them to make it just for you and your not even paying for it, dont complain if you dont get it... if the is a franchise place, the owners will loose alot of money bcoz of that "free pizza" where there is no one will reimburst them....

my point is, if you dont wanna pay for whatever your getting, dont arguee..

who would i serve first?, the people who i know that dont give a tip or the people who will give a decent tip??? i work at a restaurant b4 and im making sure that the people who i know that will give me a decnt tip will get my service...

I still think you haven't read my original post. It was free slices. You have a ticket, the team wins, you get a free slice with your ticket (in my case I had two tickets, mine and my dad's). They asked if I wanted them to make pepperoni, it'd be 20 min.... etc etc. Read the OP before you comment. Tips had nothing to do with this situation.

I agree in general that customer service has gone in the toilet...It's unfortunalte, and like you I was raised to be polite (and I get complimented a lot on it---I also work in customer service --auto claims)...It's unfortunate, but I think bad customer serive is just the way it's going to be from now on. Honestly, these days, if I go to a gas station, liquor store, or fast food place I'm beyond shocked if people are genuinely polite (sad, but true).

I still call people ma'am and sir---people almost have a heart attack when I adress them that way...Truly unfortunate...
