Oh, and I bow to those of you waiters that have to deal with people that act like me without having a reason. I mean, it takes a bit for me to get pissed off so when I do I usually end up raising hell. But if I was a waiter and some fat chick walked in with an attitude and tried to boss me around like I was her dumb even-fatter kid I would probably bust out the baby powder and expect to be fired/arrested very soon. |

The simple fact that you demanded what your free item would be, even after you were told there were none is extremely rude. If you did that in my store I would have told you to leave as well. There's no law that says any establishment has to serve you, they're there to provide a service for you, not give it to you. |

I think that you are missing the point. These restaurants offer promotions to increase business. They should be able to honor what they advertise. If they can't/won't/refuse to honor their own offer, then they shouldn't advertise it. It's like the big vehicle sale at your local dealer. They offer a crazy low price on a vehicle. Then when you show up to buy it, they say, "Oh, we sold THAT vehicle." They use misleading ads to get you in thinking that once you are there, you won't care and just buy whatever they have available. Bastards. |

I'm done with Pizza Pizza.
You don't even get sauce on chicken wings anymore, unless you pony up an extra 70 cents for it.. even then, all you get is a tiny container with about 3 ketchup packets worth of sauce. After it's all said and done with, it's about $16 CAD for 20 wings. Ridiculous. I'm sorry to hear of the trouble they gave you.. surely they would have anticipated more people coming in afterwards to redeem their tickets. To anyone that wants to suggest that it was a promo that they didn't have to honour if they didn't have any left - this has been an ongoing thing for years in Ottawa, and I've seen stores make half a dozen pizzas just to satisfy the initial rush of people coming to claim their free slice.

Now, they hassled her about giving her 2 slices of pizza, even though she gave them 2 tickets. If the guys only had 1 ticket each, and in turn only got one piece each, that would mean one of three things: 1) They slice the pizza so that each slice is 1/3 of a pizza 2) They had a few more slices of the pizza that she wanted back there and were just being dicks 3) They just served the two guys all the rest of said pizza while giving her a hard time about getting 2 slices. There's no way to defend that. If they didn't want her waiting for 2 slices, they shouldn't have asked her to wait. Then, if they didn't want her waiting again (in case there was some miscommunication about how many slices she was expecting), they shouldn't have asked her again to wait 20 minutes. The guy should be fired.. the manager should be slapped for not firing the guy. His job wasn't to bitch, negotiate, etc. etc.. with her. Hell, he doesn't even have to think. He just needed to say "Yes Ma'am" and get his ass back there and make her what she asked for, especially since it is a promotonial offer to get more business. This is actually making me angry.. |

Thanks to everyone who actually read the OP and made coherent and valid comments, for or against me. Basically, I guess I was just expecting too much out of these people. Like I said, I work in a highly customer service oriented job. Everyday we bend over backwards to satisfy our customers to ensure they return again. I guess the folks at Pizza Pizza just don't care. |

And ill tell you. Its all about mindset. Some people dont like dealing with other people. So when it comes time when theyre stuck in that position, generally, you wont get great, friendly customer service. When theyre off the job, you can bet the treat people like crap too. Vice versa, you can be friendly at your job and friendly out of work. Note: Its half as hard to piss someone off, than it is to please someone. |

Customer service is such bs. I don't give a shit about any of the people I valet cars for. Granted, i'm nice, but I will in no way go out of my way for them unless they tip me out well. You gotta understand most people working retail/food services don't give a **** about you, especially whiny bitchy customers. So you can't expect anybody to do something out of the ordinary for you, especially if you don't tip them. I hated giving away free drinks (because of promos) at caribou coffee/starbucks because all it meant was more work and people weren't decent enough to tip the people working extra hard. So I'm sorry, but no sympathy from me.
