I agree totally. I have owned 3 6 cylinder cars so far (the Civic will be my first 4 cylinder when the dealer finally gets it) And honestly, I didn't need a larger car with a larger engine. Sure my GTP was fun and was a mid 13 second daily driver by the time I was finished with it. But it only got 17 mpg which translates into $70 CDN every 3 days for premium gas. I don't need that to drive to college and work and back. A compact sedan with a 4 banger that gets 40+ mpg is all I need. However, people who own gas hogs who only cart themselves around are like smokers, it doesn't matter how much you make them pay. If they want to do it, they'll still pay for it with their own will. Heck, even I'm tempted to go back to the dark side in 3 years once my lease is up and I'm out of college and buy either a Pontiac G8 or the new Camaro coming out. It's something that's in the back of my head that I know isn't practical, but it's something that I like and am willing to pay for. However, I wish they would bring more diesel to North America. More power and and efficiency can be had from a diesel and it would put Gasoline out of business. Heck, look at how many people own gasoline cars in Europe vs. Diesel.
