Well Cayman seems to be the only sports car on the poll. But go with an M3.

If you want something reliable, go with the Porsche, if you don't go with the M3

Another vote for M3. If you want power, wait for the 2008 e92 M3 to come out, otherwise enjoy yourself an e46 M3 (although my favorite is the e30).

Oh, my second choice is the new Audi TT. Sweet Ride
Or if money is no object wait for the new Audi R8 to hit the American Market. I saw it in person when I visited my Hometown of Heilbronn, Germany. Audi's had a Main Plant in the Suburb of Neckarsulm where I actually got to sit in that baby. It's a Ferrari Killer for sure. They weren't sure about the price but I think it's going to be in the 150k Euro Range or close to 200K USD. If I save up for it now I might be able to afford it on my 50th birthday the next lifetime around

IDK.. I've wanted a Vette.. but if I burned myself out on it.. I'd go for something like an evo9... or just buy an old hatch.. gut it.. paint it.. swap it.. put it back together.. and you'll have one clean ride.. then you just put all new stuff in there

why?
Porsche's and the S2000 are the only sports car to get high reliability ratings.
its designed to be a convertible, but then its not a convertible, so it has loads of torsional stiffness.
its a porsche so it has godlike handling.
the S gets like an 8:11 on the 'ring and 0-60 in less than 5 seconds.
i dont see the crap part with the exception 'its not as good as a 911'.

the E92 M3 is gonna be around 65-70k. for that money, get a cayman S + 3rd party LSD + ceramic brakes = M3 pwned. did you mean E39 M5?

did you mean E93 M3? Boxster S will pwn that no problem because its designed to be a conv.

the 335i is a really good deal on a luxurious well performing car however.
