Yea its nice, i heard somewhere its gonna be the replacement for the Matrix and the Vibe.

I'd take it over a corolla any day thats for sure but not over any 8th gen. Gauges are cool too.

meh, it's OK... Much better than any corolla for sure. It kind if reminds me of a GTi from the front and 1/4 angles... not sure about the rear, tho. Mustard paint FTL!

Looks much better than the Yaris hatch at least. Looks a bit smaller than the Matrix/Vibe though, probably sized more to take on the Fit since the Yaris doesn't directly compete against it in terms of being a 5 door.

At launch it will be offered in three and five-door hatchback body styles with a choice of two gas engines (1.4 VVT-i with 97 hp and 1.6 Dual VVT-i with 122 horsepower) and three diesels (1.4 with 89 hp, 2.0 with 124 hp, and 2.2 D-4D with 175 hp), all of which meet Euro IV emissions standards. A wide choice of gearboxes will be available, too, including a six-speed manual transmission fitted as standard on the 2.0 D-4D 130 and 2.2 D-4D 180. A MultiMode system with paddle shift controls will be available as an option on the 1.4 D-4D 90 and 1.6 Dual VVT-i engines.
Could be. I'll tell ya that the Auris > Fit > Yaris but the Auris is in a different class. 175 hp diesel would be nice in an econo box

I highly doubt they'll offer the diesels here in America, there just isn't really a market for them...

The 122hp engine sounds about right as that'd be put it about the same as the Matrix it looks to replace. Hopefully they'll save some weight compared to the Matrix as it's about the same as a loaded Civic EX with only 126hp. If this is the case then the 122hp in the Auris will be < Fit.

I believe it's also in the same class as the Fit, Versa, etc. The Nissan Versa has pretty much the same specs if the Auris is on the same kind of platform as the Matrix. Both are 2700+ pounds with both at 122hp.

Nice looking car though, I'd take it over a Versa any day. But there's a reason why the Fit is the undefeated reigning leader in the subcompact 5-doors.

* looked it up the car comes in at 1250kg with the 1.4 liter, which is 2750 pounds and only 97hp . They had no information on the curb weight of the 1.6 liter, but it can only get heavier.

Man, that looks way better than the fit IMO. Take it with a grain of salt though, I don't really like the fit all that much.

To me

Auris>Yaris HB>fit
