Cable tv & internet intro price, repeatedly?
Getting married in a month so I’m looking into cable & internet rates for the house. There’s the typical “intro” rates that are valid 6mos, then go up to whatever price. Now, one thing a friend was telling me is that he will use up the intro rate for 6 mos, then go up to the company (since the phone takes forever) and then sign up to a new plan and get that intro rate. He said he’s been doing it for a little over a year now and they never give him any trouble. I don’t see how this is possible, but who knows…
I’ve lived on my own for a while in stints (co-op in another city) so I’ve never had to worry about after the intro period since I move back home. Just curious if anyone else does this. Or, do you wind up paying the increased price after the intro period? FYI, the plan I"m looking at goes from $70 to $110 after 6 mos.

I still live at home so I do not pay for the cable/phone but a co-worker was telling me that if you call them and state your bill is too high to handle they can possibly lower your rate for a limited period. He did say that it would depended on who he talked to(one guy said no lowering of rates, the other hooked him up with the intro rates a day later). I think it will depend on the company and the person you talk to. If it was me I would call and say you were considering switching to the competitor, just some suggestions...good luck
