UCB vs UCSD

I've spent my 3 years at a junior college and getting ready transfer. I am a Bio major and eventually want to get into pharmacy; and now I have to make a choice between UC Berkeley, and UC San Diego. what do you guys think? this is a tough choice....
I live really close to Berkeley, and just the name alone carries itself.
But SD is good for sciences and is in a really nice area.
any past experiences or opinions would be helpful.

I'll be a total homer and say you should go to Berkeley (the number one public institution in the country) . I graduated in 2005 with a degree in integrative biology and I thought the profs were pretty good. Plus, as you probably know, the bay area has a bigger biotech industry than SD (if you plan to work a bit before pharmacy school). But of course the most important thing to consider is that that Berkeley's football program is on the rise and SD doesn't have a D1 program (sorry i'm a cal football addict)

omg what a coincedence

i just sent in my SIR for UCSD over UCB. UCSD is the hottest rising schools for almost all fields in science right now and the location is much more calm and relaxed. Not to mention a better car scene.

Actually the major that I chose under berkeley was integrative bio. actually Berkeley is the school I was shooting for the entire time, but just recently my decision has been swaying little by little to SD. but now that I got into UCB I'm kind of at a 50/50.

If you want to get into pharmacy, you can't go wrong with either school which doesn't help your decision. However, UCSD has a strong bio program, but ultimately Berkeley will probably help you open more doors in the future. Besides, UCSF is only across the water from Cal if that's your goal later on as well.
