Has anyone tried chicken sashimi. I heard it's quite popular in Japan right now. Raw chicken.

As for sushi, I wouldn't eat the raw stuff. Did you know that in Japan all the school kids have their poop anaylzed each year for parasites because they consume so much raw fish. You'll be surprised what'll you find in raw fish. Lots of nasty stuff, like really long thin worms. That's why I never ever would eat raw fish. Smart people wouldn't eat raw fish, it's just plain stupid.

^ Hey, take it easy. Don't be calling people stupid. Japan has one of the longest life expectancies in the world. They must be doing something right with their diet.

+1

Sushi is a lot more healthy than just about anything in the typical american diet. I used to love sushi, that was until I had authentic sushi and it ruined me for life. It's a shame too, my g/f's (fiance', whatever) step father loved to prepare sushi along with several of his meals. Most of his friends are doctors and they eat sushi for the health factor also.

I myself just go down to the smoothie factory and get myself a shot of wheat grass when I'm feeling like a health nut. :)

Just to let you know Japan has the highest rate of stomach cancer. The reason? One theory is that they eat too much raw fish.

i wouldn't think it's their diet. rather, i believe it would be the stressful lives they live w/ their work ethic.

I really enjoy eating the non raw stuff like California rolls. But sashimi is just plain nasty. Raw fish contain nasty parasites and dangerous bacteria that can do a lot of harm to your gastrointestinal tract. I eat a lot of fish. I used to eat fish everyday. Yep, everyday I would eat salmon or trout. Fresh quality stuff like sockeye or spring, wild... yummy. That's what I call health food. I stopped eating fish everyday until I heard about the mercury dangers... I remember a time I would a lot of Atlantic black cod many times a week and I would get nasty headaches and problems with my eye lids. Hmmmm... years later, I discovered that Atlantic black cod contain a lot of mercury. Ooopps, so I decided to avoid that stuff all together. I still eat fish, but only once or twice a week now.

Remember, eat fish twice a week... keep your heart bumping beat!

The Japanese people who developed stomach cancer consumed the most raw fish. So, it does have something to do with it.

About two years ago, I went to an authentic Japanese restaurant and I was surprised that didn't serve California rolls or any rolls for the matter. I ate authentic home style Japanese food and it wasn't really good because it they didn't serve any rolls at all. On the other hand, it wasn't really expensive and the quality was pretty good. Oh, you know what I did with the raw fish, I asked for a leftover box and I took the fish home and I microwaved it. I didn't want to waste something I had to pay for.

What's wrong with Moon cakes? They have a unique texture, kinda hard buttery, sweet, melt in your mouth taste to it. I'll say they're good stuff, but quite expensive as most of them are hand made.

Oh trust me, I don't.

Short of Adam Carolla and Ronald McDonald, I'm oblivious to most TV stars. Well, Hugh Laurie.. I think that's the name of the guy that plays house.
