Anyone have back problems?

Well I do, I have already pulled muscles in my back two seperate time within the last couple of years. The last time it happened I had back spasms for a couple of days, needles to say I was on the couch for the whole week.

The bad part is everyday of my life I am in pain, not severe, but my back hurts everday. Sometimes it is just mild discomfort, then other days it can bring me to tears.

I am just really bored at work, and in a little pain and was wondering if anyone else suffered like this. Any suggestions short of going to a doctor? My dad had/has the problem too, he had major back surgery last year, and I am really hoping that I don't eventually have to have it too.

Do you workout at all? Strengthening your stomach muscles can help a lot.

Stretching helps the hamstrings and reduces stress on lower back . Also a full body massage from a licensed pro can help a lot. Good luck.

Agreed!!!

When I started working out again regularly about 4-5 years ago, my back problems became almost non-existant. Any exercise or regular physical activity will help you out alot.

You need to be aware of the warning signs like tightness or twinges. Take it easy when you feel them cause the back pain will follow in a few days. I find the placing an ice bag at the small of the back for 30 minutes helps a lot.

I had back problems for years. I've been working out for nearly 4 years now and have not had problems since. Get your back strong and it will take care of itself.

If that doesn't work, definately see a doctor.

sorry to hear about this. swimming may help and also some light back and stomach exercises. my friends back somewhat improved after doing some light deadlifts... he is much much better now. i hope this helps.

I use to weightlift 10 years ago back in high school. I had a bad habit of arching my back while benchpressing over 200lbs. I'm short, 5'-4" to be precise and when I'm maxing I tend to arch my back which was bad and regretted to this day. Now I can't stand for more than an hour or run for a mile without my lower back muscles hurting.
