guitar hero worth it?

so i've been seeing tons and tons of ads for guitar hero and know tons of people who have played it and have said its amazing. I was just wondering if anyone has had any experience with it. i was gonna buy xbox360 when halo 3 came out but this guitar hero might bump my purchase up if its worth it. Also i've been playing actual guitar for a couple of years now and i was wondering if any musicians have played it and what their take on it is. I was skeptical that i would be a joke pressing buttons instead of strings or worse if would screw up my actual guitar playing.

i played it, its a lot of fun, but you dont really have to know how to play guitar to be good at it. Dont get me wrong, ive been playing guitar for about 4 years so the hand-eye coordination does help a lot.

its a really fun game. totally worth it. I've been playing guitar for a few years so far and guitar hero can help with hand-eye coordination and finger control

Never been a fan of those games, so I'd say no. I've never even played DDR.

Thats true. It's like the Wii also. It's not fun by yourself.

Actually, playing guitar hero really f's up my playing guitar. It throws off my rythm as far as strumming goes.. I go home and sit with my acoustic and hit 1 of every 5 notes.

I've got a friend that is a 100% addict of this game though.. him and a few other people will get together and have competitions to see who can get the best score on the hardest song or something. Idk. I probably wouldn't go out of my way and buy a system just for this game though. just my .02
