Ride of the Month??

Great idea. I would like to see it. Although I think also it should be broken down into groups fg2 fg1 and fa5 etc etc Why, people are partial to there style of cars, I know personally Id always choose a nice looking FA5 over anything else, just my taste =:}

And leave out the photochopped..

How does one get submitted? How does one get picked? How can the VIP members help in narrowing down the candidates? What are the picture or car requirements? Are there separate categories - e.g. Si, non-Si, coupe, sedan, color?

It's an idea that we've been trying to work out, but the hard part is coming up with the logistics. If you all have input on it, we'd love to put it into practice.

Make a ROTM thread, and have Sub-forums for each of the following. Then Each member is responsible for submitting ONLY 1 "BEST PIC" in the Thread(no chops or posting someone elses' car). The VIP's and the Mod's will be the primary voter's. (they have to be a lil special cuz they pay). Judges will award points based like a real car show ( cleanliness, uniqueness, mods, overall appearance/flow, etc.)The most votes in one month gets the ROTM award!

sub forums-
1. SI Coupe (any colors)
2. SI Sedan (any colors)
3. Non-SI FA Sedan (any colors)
4. Non-SI FG Coupe (any colors)

On the LAST day of the month Webby/Mods will tally the votes, and Announce the Winner of each Sub-Category. The winner's car picture will stay up the following month as the "car to beat", while voters are voting on the next month.

a pic of the voted ROTM with mod info could also be on the front page of the 8th above the news section. Also, i think that there should just be 2 categories.. si and non-si. that way the front page won't be cluttered every month with 4 pics.

there could be a bulliten thread throughout the month that will update members on which cars have made the final cut.. and then a new thread every month such as ROTM May 07 - Sickyute or something. idk.

It's doable. It's just a LOT of work, and we can't oversimplify a complex process. We've tried to learn how other enthusiast websites do it, and we appreciate all the feedback we can get. I think it's a great idea if we can get it to work.

only problem with this is theres not enough people that are ocho whores like us, so maybe just an si a month and a non si like 2 winners each month

my idea is, every month have a sticky at the top one of them say "entries for si of the month"
one says "entries for non si of the month"

people that would like to be qualified, post like 3 pics or somthing and absolutley NO comments in between pics. and have like the deadline for the entry like 10 days before the end of the month and then every user gets to vote, but make like vips count for 2 votes.


and then the next month, clear the whole thread and start over.....

Should be Si and Non-Si rides.

I think 3 pic of a ride should be posted. 3 people have to agree with the persons nomination for the first 2 weeks of the month. Once the there is 3 agreement votes for the ride, those cars will be listed on the OP.

3rd week of the month, Mods vote on the top five rides. Thread can be locked for that week so no more cars can be added.

4th week of the month, a second thread opened for the top 5 rides to be voted on for the Ride of the Month Award.

Once the winner is chosen edit on the OP and let the "congrats" comment pour in, lol

Possibly have a couple of mods to keep an eye out on these threads on a semi daily basis to make updates.
