Kids are f'ing stupid...

I saw on the news last night where a 15 year old beat up a 13 year old (for no reason other than to do it) and posted the video on her myspace page. She's being charged.

Then I see this today. Kids taping themselves burglarizing a store, and another idiot taping himself breaking into churches, and other stupid stuff. Then they put them on the internet via YouTube or Myspace.

Seriously, the youth of today is getting f'ing stupid. If my kid ever did something as stupid as this I'd personally hand deliver him/her to prison.

Yeah, but really, is anything of any major consequence going to happen to them? Teachers and parents can't lay a hand on them anymore, and they know it. When I grew up as a kid, punishment was cold and harsh.

I know this thread was already beaten to death in the past on here, but I think this is the real problem.

Exactly...we not only got it in school (they had the paddle back then...complete with HOLES) but the worst was when you got home. Your parents made sure the school never had to break out the paddle ever again. Today punishment is useless. You can't do anything to make them get in line...oh sorry...you are supposed to TALK to them. Yeah...that's nice they don't listen to you ANYWAY what makes you think they are going to listen to your talk when they've done something wrong and you are trying to set them straight?

Today...they are so stupid...they tape themselves doing this stuff so that they have street cred with their friends...instead of saying "I did this" they can now say "SEE what a bad ass I am...I even taped myself doing this". They think it's cool...somehow.

Don't get me wrong, I used to do stupid stuff like water balloon cars on the highway, and set tree branches on the road so people would slow down, but I would never have taped it and put it on the internet.

This is how I feel as well. What I don't get is why everyone acknowledges what the problem is but the government doesn't seem to do anything about it.

Kid's try to be so hardcore now a days. I'll be driving home about the time they get out of school and they walk in the middle of the friggin' road and do not move. They just look at you like "what?". Argg... I wish I was still under 18 so I could kick thier asses.

Yea, I saw that too. 4 of them were doing the deed, and a 5th was the "look out". The 4 are having felony charges brought against them, IIRC.
