I would agree with you a hundred percent, but many of the points he brings up are valid (for example how inappropriate it was for the NRA to have a pro-gun convention in Denver within the week of the shootings). Plus, I have NO respect for Charlton Heston. I'm sorry, but at first he was just a bad actor, now he's just a bad person.

my dad has a barret .50 cal. i cant recall the model but it is a huuuge rifle, single shot bolt action

I have been in the NRA for 15 years or more now...well worth it IMO. Almost like having AAA coverage because of the hotel discounts.

I recently became a member. The NRA had a really great deal going for active duty military folk so I jumped on it and got a free membership. I also took a class on becoming a NRA certified pistol instructor.

I love going to the range here in Fairfax, Va. I have a USP .40 S&W compact...it's fun.
