College reqs chaning, and I have no idea what to take

Do your course requirements change sometimes and it leaves you trying to figure out wtf you still have to take? I'm in that boat right now. I have about 20-something credits left, and I honestly have no idea what classes I'm supposed to be taking since they've changed up classes & reqs. I have e-mailed my advisor 3 times now to set up an appointment and he won't answer me!

I hated that in college when I couldn't get a hold of my advisor or went to 'open' office hours to find out there are like 9 people who are waiting for the same thing! Well my advice...next time you do get to talk to an advisor get the layout of your entire degree requirements. I got this sheet that said all the classes I needed to take so I just filled in the classes that I had taken to see what else I needed to take. I don't know if they have that for your degree but once I got that I saw my advisor like twice before I had to gradauate. Hope this helps out somewhat

Both of you are right.

I do have one of those sheets, but my problem is that some of those classes are no longer offered or have changed to something else entirely.

For example:
MAE 445 Aerospace Propulsion. What is on my list...but it's gone now.
Instead there's:
440 Rocket Propulsion
441 Airbreathing Propulsion

There are literally 4 classes like this.

Yeah you need to speak to your advisor. Mine warned me ahead of time that one of my classes would no longer be availible after Spring of '08. If I don't take it by then, then I would have to take the new course that replaces it. You might have to visit the office of your college since registration is going to be here soon.

Anyway, gl and back to class I go

I had a similar problem like that earlier this year... I'm a graduating senior this semester and they tried to hit me with that same thing... had to go to the chancelor and basically whatever year catalog you came in on is the one you need to fullfill... goodluck and always go higher if the people you are talking too can't satisfy your concerns

If you read my post you'd understand why I need to see an advisor...

What really is stupid is that every semester our pin # to register changes and we have to get it from our adviser.

lol...you people don't get it.

The classes that are in my 2003-2005 catalog have been done away with & replaced, or just flat out done away with.

Again, for example
Last year Natures & Props was taken out of our classes...however it was on the catalog for us to take as part of our course material. Well, since they did away with it many people didn't know what to replace it with. There was alot of confusion with students who were going to graduate soon and didn't know what it was they were supposed to take in order to get those 4 credits. And at that level, you can't just take any class. It has to be applicable to your major.

Get it now?

I have 2 choices: register online or get my adviser to do it for me. You can register online a week early if you're a student there due to "early registration". This relates back to what I posted originally: I can't get a hold of my adviser to get my pin #, or his advice on what I need to take.
