I dunno about his performance, but I'm sure he, like every other pro athlete, is VASTLY overpaid.

Kobe is a scorer, but he is not an all around player. He doesn't spread the wealth to make the team better. He needs to watch some Jordan’s videos. He is a scorer, defender and he knows how to make others play better too.

My conclusion- Steve Nash is the MVP again. He is an all around player. He makes the team and everyone around him better. He scores when he is calls upon..!

Jordan = Biggest Ballhog in NBA History, although greatest player.

on Steve Nash for MVP..that guy is the only "real deal" these days..and maybe Dirk too..that's about it. I used to love basketball, it's gone to sh!t now.

KOBE is the best all around player in the NBA. No one can guard him.

I think the PHX DAL game last week was a pretty telling game as far as MVP voting goes.

Nash = hit thre free throws, and a three pointer, to prop his team up

Dirk = missed crucial free throws at the end, didn't step up in OT

i like how 'Sheed said neither of them should win it because they don't play D... ho hum. isn't it funny that the best NBA players are white while the best golfer is black? MVP is going to the wrong person this year... again!

kobe doesn't have a team around him! the second best player in that team in injured, and doesn't have anyone one on that team who is great. he's averaging 5.6 reb, 5.5 ast, 30.5 a game! steve nash, and dirk have great players around them so its different. when anyone plays against the Lakers they don't worry about anyone except kobe. the reason being he is the only real threat, so he faces double teams, and maybe even triple teams. Kobe still manages to score 30+ pts a game.

Alright.. I can't deny that dirk missed the shot that we needed in OT, but he would've had time to get his feet underneath him had Avery called Dallas' last time out and put the ball on our end of the court. I think Dirk is one of the best in the league, but he has a tendency to choke when it really counts. This is why it's great to have Jet and J-Ho around to back him up.. Which I think if Josh Howard keeps on the track that he's on right now he'll be Dallas' star player in coming years.

Kobe is without a doubt the single best player in the NBA-MVP trophy or not. He is a natural and there is nothing that he can't do.
He has scored 175 point in three(!) games and now joins, Wilt, Mike and Baylor as part of that very exclusive club.
The rest of his team sucks. Like Jordan, Kobe is a shooting guard so it's no coincidence that his team wins when he doesn't pass the ball as much. He's not a point guard like Nash or Kidd.
Jordan was good too but he was a stronger and more physical player, which is why he matched up so well against the Knicks.
Kobe is not very physical, but he is incredibly quick and elusive. He makes teams look very slowwwww.
Although his off-court judgment can be questioned,-his on-court decision making abilities are second to none.
Check out his ten best dunks and plays of this season:
