Welp, kiss the mod money for the Si good-bye

Today while at work my brother text messaged me saying our next door neighbor's wife had been diagnosed with cancer so they were going to get rid of some of their animals to help cut some costs. In that group were 2 9-week-old Beagles (one male, one female) so I had him look at them. One of them was a tri-color female who my brother said was too good to pass up. It kept going through my mind that it was way too early so I tried to stay away from it until he mentioned that all of her puppy shots were done, that they had started potty training her, and that she was free. The second I read free I decided to call up the parents and ask them if for 2-3 weeks they could put up with a baby dog and they said it was fine as long as I was making damn sure to get her ready to be an adult and if she made a mess to clean it up. I said I would and they went over and got her.

After work I hurried to Wal-Mart and picked up some supplies and came home to her. Here are some pictures:

Her name was Jill, but she doesn't even respond to it so I decided to change it. After thinking about it for a while I decided to name her Zoe (pronounced Zoe-ee) because I love that name.

I think she'll be worth passing up on mods for the Si for a little while.

If you buy your dog food at wal-mart, you'll end up killing her - problem solved.

Nice dog.

Nice dog.
She's already weened for dry food and I'm feeding her Purina Puppy Chow, not "cuts and gravy" or whatever they called it.

make sure you get pet insurance. They cover everything including shots and medicine. You just have to pay upfront and they send you back a check in the mail after your vet faxes over a form. I think they pay you back 80% of what you paid. It will basically pay itself off the first time u visit the vet.

Cute puppy BTW

She's a cutie! And I agree with the pet insurance...definitely worth it early on since it covers shots and neutering/spaying.

Here are my 2 "kids":

Screw the modifications for your car.

Having a companion to stick by your side is so much more rewarding and fulfilling than modifications, especially in that given circumstance.

I hope your neighbors get through this very rough time.

Cute puppy...Beagles are great...My wife has a beagle that she's had ever since she was a sophomore in high school...and she's about to turn 30!! her name is Hillary..good dogs..it's blind, and pretty much can't hear anymore...but still tries to be spunky. I'd much rather have a puppy than a few extra mods...but I can't have a dog where i'm at right now..sooooo Mod away!!

Hope ur neighbors get through everything..good luck with the dog.

Nice looking pups, if I were you I WOULD NOT buy food from Wall Mart. Wether it's Purina or another name brand. I feed my dogs Science Diet; the easiest way I can explain it is that Purina, and kibbles, and all that shit is like McDonalds and Burger King. On the other hand, Science Diet is much healthier and will prolong their lives and dramatically help their coats. You can get this at Pet-Co, and it is dry food. I am not a sales men for them or anything, I am just telling you from my own experiance. Here's a couple of shots of my boys:

Cheap dog food doesn't give the best nutrition and, may or may not have additives which can cause kidney problems to develop. My dogs won't touch the O'l Roy biscuits I used to get at the bank drive-thru - they know IAMS is the good stuff.
