Dirtbikes

I used to ride dirtbikes for fun or whatever. My last one was a 04 Honda CR125. For anyone who knows about two stroke motors, tell everyone else what happens when its type of "vtec" kick in .

Lets just say when this thing popped into its powerband similar to the Si's the front wheel came off the ground

Nothing like having to rebuilt the top end every 50-100 hours as well.

2-strokes are devilishly expensive to 'properly' maintain and operate over time. Love the power, love the LIGHT WEIGHT or the old two strokes I've owned, but I'm happy with my 4S KLX300.

Well if you can do the topends yourself they area actually pretty cheap to maintain.

I've heard when it comes to motocross, 4 stroke MX bikes are even more expensive to maintain. Not to be mistaken with 4 stroke trail bikes like XR's

edit: i noticed you put "properly" i know theres a ton of stuff you "should" maintain but most dont. I see where you coming from.

Heh, yeah, that's why I shudder when I am paging through the motorcycle classifieds and see all the super cheap 1 year old bikes for sale during the winter. I know they've had the living crap beaten out of them during their one summer of ownership...and now its being dropped into some unsuspecting buyer's lap.

I love my 02 cr125. I've had to rebuild the top end like 3 or for times in the 5 years i've had it. I mostly do enduro. The bikes tough, but i don't push it too hard. All it has is a FMF SST pipe. But i can still burn alot of cars on a short race and i think it only has 15 or 20 hp

I miss my 1992 Suzuki RM 125. Sporty little sucker and a blast to ride. I sold it when I moved to Ohio.
