Man punctures car tire with ice pick after vending machine robs him of drink
A man who punctured a car tire with an ice pick after becoming furious because a vending machine failed to deliver a can of drink was arrested on Monday, police said. Nobuo Taguchi, 69, an unemployed from Tokyo's Nakano-ku, has admitted to the allegations. "I put coins into the vending machine, but the drink didn't come out," officers quoted Taguchi as saying. "I became furious and punctured the tire." Using an ice pick, Taguchi allegedly stabbed the front left tire of a car owned by a 56-year-old man in Nakano-ku during the early hours of July 11. Officers found an ice pick and an eyeleteer at Taguchi's home in the Higashi-Nakano district of Nakano-ku. The tires of about 50 cars have been punctured in Higashi-Nakano since early May. Officers are questioning Taguchi over whether he committed similar crimes in the past. Taguchi reportedly admitted he had stabbed several other tires. He claims that his motorbike had been victimized in a similar way and reportedly posted a note warning that those who puncture tires should think about the victims. (Mainichi) |
