I got lucky, I wasn't going to be able to drive one before I ordered mine, but someone backed out of a HRP with no Navi, took it for a half hour drive, promptly placed my deposit and said I want it July 1st, got it the last week of June, and they gave me my VIN and build date, 1 week before that.

I used to work at IDG, which i think is on the 11th floor. IGN is in south SF.
