Is drifting a sport?

So me and my gf just got into a heated debate on how drifting is NOT a sport..and i'm telling her it is. She says Nasscar is a sport, so then how would Drifting not be a sport?

they share the same thing as most other sports, a team, Championship, Points, time, money, locations, ETC

So I'm saying it is a sport, and shes saying its not but NASSCAR is a sport..but whats the diffrence between them? how can Nasscar be a sport, but not Drifting? please school me on this..

or could this be both opinions?

hell she could have been saying its not just to piss me off...

their based on opinions..but drfting would definitely be considerated a sport..

it does require techinques and years of experiences.

i heard they were going to had drifting to the next olympics.
