Not in the mood to write tickets??

So, I get pulled over the other day....I know i'm screwed..the Cop comes to the passenger side window...and asks for the dl + ins + registration...you know..the norm...Do u know how fast you were going?? NO? 65 in a 35...so I suck it up..Now...before he goes back to his car...he asks..."Do you fellas have anything illegal in the vehicle that I should know about?" I said of course not...and he says "Would u be willing to let us search the vehicle?" I said Yes.
So he leaves and about 4 minutes later...he comes back...with no ticket?? So i'm like wtf? He starts out by saying..."Do u know the penalty for 30+ over the speed limit? And I was assuming a straight to jail...but he says...an immediate court appearance...

Anyways...he hands me back my dl and ins. and says that he's gonna cut me a break...he said..and I quote word for word "We're not in the mood to write tickets today, we're out looking for Dope" LOL I shit u not..that's exactly what he said...told us to have a good day...and that was that...

So anyways..anyone else ever got this lucky?? I mean, that ticket was gonna be 305 dollars...and a court appearance, everything...probably woulda been like a 1,000 dollars or something..and they would have probably made me take a class...I dunno, i'm thinking worst case scenario probably...but it was a hell of a lucky ass day...and I got a new Great job that same day too...I think someone is looking out for me

Wow. You got lucky. Just don't push that luck! Take it for what it is and be careful. Next time, I doubt any cop will be that nice.

Getting off of a 65 in a 35 is no easy feat (you shouldn't be doing it in the first place </motherrant>, but lucky.

heh, i had something like that happen to me in my old si. i was doing 50 in a 25 residential cuz i was late for a dinner date once. the cop pulled me over, and gave me the whole "cuz you're 25 mph over the limit and near a school zone (even if it was after 6pm omg) you're going to have to go to lvl 2 traffic school". that kind of traffic school is MANDATORY, which would require me to go to traffic school for TWO WHOLE DAYS. just when he was about to go back to his car to get his ticket, he gets a radio call on his receiver regarding a robbery in progress. he looks me straight in the eye (i was scared shitless) and tells me "i'm going to give you a stern warning since this call is so urgent. if i see you speeding again in this area, i will immediately have your car impounded". needless to say, someone's bad day was my lucky day.

How is it just about everybody I know has gotten off with 30-50+ mph over the speed limit, been cuaght, and given WARNINGS...

And I've been ticketed for going 5 over in a residential (which I wasn't, I had my cruise on at 25 mph, I really don't speed off the freeway, and the freeway I only do 5 over tops)

That punch line my friend, was absolutely hilarious. Do you mind sharing the location of where you live? I wouldn't mind living in a city with a high tolerance for speeding and none for dope.

I know some of you are gonna flame me for makin the stupid mistake in the first place but we all make mistakes at some point in our lives mine just happen to be a big one that I regret more than anything i have ever done!!!

I had a simiar thing happen when I was 16. THe cop said he could have written me up for: reckless driving, racing, speeding, and not stopping before entering the highway...let me off after yelling at me. Talk about luck!

It all depends on your state. Here in Cali you only get f*cked if you're over 100...

shit... same thing happened to me. i was following someone and my car was very slow. anyways... ******* cops pulled me over and i think i was goign around 70 on 35. he pulled a gun on me and treated me like i was dangerous. he was talking shit about how i was street racing which i wasnt. i told him i was going into boot camp as a marine that next week and if he can plz let me go but he was telling me i am going to jail and laughing at me. i told him i was following my friends and he was like... hell no... i saw u racing with them other hondas. ****!!! my friends didnt even drive hondas. anyways.. i didnt go to jail but my car was inpounded and i had fit it tickets for my parts that was ******* legal. total cost was like 2 g's and a few months of staying home doing nothing.

o yea... he also said that he was parked at a bar when he spoted me and that if a drunk driver drove out and i hit him he would have died..... THE HELL?!?!?! i guess he likes drunk drivers more than azn's and hondas. stupid racist prick.

you guys have it easy:
-1st 2 tickets. I drive my sister and mom to my sister's foot therapy in Queens blvd and I pull over by a no-standing sign to just let my mom and sis off the car. As i put my blinkers on to get out I see on my rearview mirror a cop DRIVING ON THE SIDEWALK to get to me and then turned on his lights. Through the speaker of the cop car, he tells me to shut off the engine, not move and stay where i am. He asked for my license and registration so I gave him both and blah blah he gives me 2 tickets because I was "parked" by a nostannding sign and also my rear wheel was touching the sidewalk so i got another ticket for that. $100 each. After he gave me those tickets (December 24th, 2005) he says "Have a nice day kiddo". Fought these 2 tickets in court and won.

-my 3rd ticket was when i went shopping with my girl so i find this parking spot that was my perfect for my car. It was in a residential area. As I come out of the store I was walking carrying big bags of clothings and I see a ticket on my window. I was like WTF what the hell did I do now? the ticket for 115 bucks said the parking space was too small for me and that i was invading the "invisible crossroad for pedestrians". Judge found me guilty but reduced the ticket to $50.

-4th ticket, I was driving on the Grand Central, take my exit to go home and when im making a right turn this cop turns on his lights. Writes me a ticket and tells me he's been "following me" and that I've been beaking the law by running red lights but he said he would give me a break and write me a ticket for "speeding". Cop didn't show up, i won the case.

-My last one. I was taking my mother home from work So I'm 5 blocks away from my house. There's a stop sign before going up a hill. Anyways, at that time there was a festival bc some religious people do some crap and whatnot. So I stop at the stop-sign. Let people cross the road, then go drive up the hill and this cop out of nowhere comes running down the hill and sarts yelling at me telling me i could've killed people bynot stopping at the stop sign and that I was a moron I shouldn't be driving, etc. My mom got upset got out the car and tell the cop "You're giving my son a ticket not because He did anything wrong but because you say so". Then, she came back in and he gave me the ticket and tells me "Have a wonderful day" with that giggle and irony i was like aghhhh...
so thats my story...NYC SUX
