This is what your MODs go through before they get to your door step.

I work for an Express company myself. I've seen this first hand, and Yes this happens day in and day out.
Word to the wise. Check the box before you sign

Enjoy

sometimes i dont even sign because they leave the package infront of my doorstep but luckily all my packages are just beaten outside and the goods are all nice and safe!

Oh god that makes me nervous, I've got about $700-worth of hockey equipment being shipped in 6 different packages (ebay). At least a few of them should make it...

Don't worry. I got $1500 worth of carbon fiber parts being shipped today (should be here by this weekend). I will be really pissed if the trunk is messed up because that is the main reason I ordered these parts (i tore up my trunk the other day on a rope). Atleast I ordered it from Z1 performance (a site sponsor) and they seem really nice, so I shouldn't have any problems.

Lol. I wish I had never rec'd a smashed package. I seem to get about 1 in 6 or 7 damaged in one form or another. I order quite a bit of stuff online and usually have one item a week delivered to me. I will say that having them delivered to my work has increased the odds of a package surviving the transit.

Any UPS/FE/DHL folks have comments on why business deliveries 'seem' to get better treatment than home deliveries?

And, that picture of the fellow just climbing over and through the boxes is classic.

in their defense, it really is the package loader's fault for not blocking off the trucks properly. I used to work for Yellow Freight, and I saw that a lot for a couple reasons: improper blocking (not making sure all the pieces fit well in the trailer), improper loading (not enough, or too much crap), or poor driving etiquette. This happens a lot for freight stuff, so just make sure to have fragile posted all over anything you might be shipping that might make its way to a freight vehicle (I've sent cases, and DJ equipment out, and I was always scared it would never make it to its destination in one piece).

Truthfully, those pictures only show a few of the disasters that happen while shipping. But truth be told, more than 99% of all packages shipped make it to their destination perfectly fine. Cheeers!
