College, Semesters v Quarters

Just lookin' to vent y'all

Okay, moved to South Dakota from Texas A&M and never heard of Quarter hours at a college. So I take a classes at a university up here that does quarters. Come to find out, QUARTER HOURS DON'T TRANSFER TO SEMESTER COLLEGES. Semesters give you 3 credit, whereas quarters give you like 2.777 or something, less than 3.

Anyways, the college gave me attitude about dropping my classes for their rival college. I basically told them they were theives looking for profit, not educating todays youth.

By doing quarters...
the school can charge for 1 extra round of classes per year
their students can't transfer to other major universities - forced to graduate with them.

Thanks for listening!

Hmm, that's some fuked up shit... There are two universities in the city I live in. The school I go to recently changed the rules about taking credits at the other school; it must be a required credit for your degree, along with some other conditions I'm sure.
Also, we have semesters, as far as I know most schools here do, BUT each of the courses I take is worth 3 credits, whereas at other schools, even at the other one in this city, their system may be different, such as each course is worth 1.5 or 1 credit.
My school also uses a GPA scale out of 10 and not 4, I've even recently seen one out of 9!
They really need to standardize this sh*t!
