Speeding Ticket...

I just went and got the mail and I had a nice little letter from the Scottsdale Police Dept. I was caught on photo radar last weekend going 61 in a 45. This is my 1st ticket ever..and it sucks. I was going to the Barrett Jackson show last weekend w/ my dad and we were going to lunch on a road I dont normally travel. When I entered the "speed trap" I saw the flash but was hoping the car next to me got the ticket..nope it was me.

Anyone have any success fighting this type of thing. I can go to traffic school to reduce the fine from 180 to 120.

Wow where you from. Those types of cameras you can't play with. Careful on some tollways as well. They can calculate how fast you drive from one tollway to the next. How long it takes for them to process the tickets and send to you?

(There would be no needs of cops giving tickets if all cameras are placed on every street lights. Then what do cops do? Mails sorters? Just of my thoughts.)

If I go to traffic school I dont get any points on my license. My bro-in-law who is a law student as ASU said that in AZ if you don't respond you can take the chance and make them come out and serve you the ticket. However, if you answer the door when they serve you, you have to pay the fine and the cost of sending someone out. And you have to be paranoid for 6months.

Pay the ticket and goto traffic school or like its been mentioned goto any johnny law office and have them rep you for 5 minutes in court for $50-100 bucks , then pay the ticket and forgo traffic school and the point on the license or just pay the ticket and take a higher hit on insurance in a few months when you renew

If I go to traffic school I dont have to pay the ticket just pay for traffic school, that seems to be the best choice.

No typically if you go to traffic school you pay a higher fine and pay for traffic school. Check to see if you can do traffic school online too. Fees and fines are different for each area so who knows you may luck out
