"For pinks!" LOL

Okay i'm sure some of you have seen my other thread about being around people that say ANYTHING!!!. Tonight one of my valet co-workers tells me that he's the type of person that races for pinks, LOL. He has a stock g35 sedan automatic. He said he's a man of his word and that he'll race for pinks if he thinks he can beat a car. So I say to him,"all bullshit aside would you seriously sign your car over to someone that claimed to wanna race for pinks if they won" he says "yes". I couldnt believe what i was hearing. So i said if i wanted to race you in my Si for "pinks" would you race and he said yea, and i said if i win would you sign your car over to me, he once again said "yea". This kid is acting DEAD SERIOUS. But in reality IMO he's full of it!. Anyway i dont street race and i would never race someone for "pinks" but would my stock si beat his stock g35 sedan automatic? i think its an 04 or 05.

BTW jay3150 (sp)? if your reading this i saw you drive through the tarrytown parking lot tonight, i was about to wave you down but i wasnt exactly sure if it was you. Your lights look sick, especially the yellow fogs.

A sleeper one of these days will win your co-workers G35. Why not you? You don't necessarilly have go through with it. You could just use it against him. Stick a turbo on your car and challenge him to a drag race at a nearby race track.
First make sure he is stock and not hiding a twin turbo or supercharger.
No matter what, he has a better power to weight ratio than your Si.
Edmunds.com writes the 04 G35 sedan has 260hp, but for 05 (the automatic?) has almost 300hp and it weighs 3400-3550 lbs.
Stock v. stock I doubt you would win.

Actually from observations on the freeway, our cars are not that far off from the G. I'm sure their off the line is tremendously better, esp. considering he's in an auto, but I've kept up on a G35 coupe manual on the freeway with no budge. Maybe it's because I was drafting him, but it's not impossible for us to beat them.

I also raced a turbo G35 coupe at Race Legal a few months back. From what I saw, my off the line reaction was pretty bad, but kept up well. Maybe it was his shifting technique vs mine. In any effect, I lost by a fender. The G sounded like it was spooled up properly the whole time, but I guess you never know.

For shits and giggles I'd race him but for pinks that is just crazy. The G stock will beat up on the Si. Not worth the risk, even though I doubt even if you did win the guy would acutally give you the title to his car. Prolly all talk.

It is all talk he's a BULLSHIT*ER, LOL. I just cant believe the audacity of him to lie to me like that. Actually heres the icing on the cake, i found out the G35 is his MOMS car!!!! hahahaha LMFAO!!!!!!. NO wonder its a sedan and automatic and completely stock. I highly doubt a guy who races for "pinks" would drive a stock automatic car, LOL.

BTW guys he keeps telling me that his car wieghs 5000 lbs? why ? is there any truth to this? the poster above is saying its in the mid 3000 lbs range.

Actually, if it's a new G with the auto tranny, then yes, he'll win. However, the Si edges out the older G sedans with the auto tranny. This has been discussed (and proven) before quite a bit.

If he wants to race you for pinks, send him an email and ask him. When he responds, print it out and if he loses and doesn't want to give up his ride, sew him for breach of contract....

I think he might have a 2004. I'll probably run him up to 80 mph or so. On a "closed road" or something.

By "closed road", of course, you mean on the TRACK, right?

Race him from a 40 mph roll in 2nd gear. Go to 8200 (or so) in each gear, shift WITHOUT letting your foot off the gas. You will be amazed at how fast you can shift.

Then take your new car to the car wash. :) I bet auto 350z's all day long from a 40 roll. The car is a MONSTER. (go practice this sometime tonight, you will see!)
