sticking lip kit back on

hi,

im trying to help a friend out because he had recently bought his used mz3 and it came with a lip kit or skirt.. anyway he hit the bottom right of the bumper and now the lip is hanging.. is there a special double side sticky tape that should be used?

what can he do to stick it back before the whole thing peels off?
or maybe its better to take the whole thing out and redo it?

thanks in advance!

I would say redo the whole lip. Make sure to clean the surface good, then use 3M automotive double sided tape.

3M makes adhesive, and it stronger than the factory stuff, I used to do body work at a high end BodyShop. BMW, Jag ect. and it's what we used to reinstall emblems and molding after they where taken off for painting.
I used it for my HFP bumper.

Get the one with blue cover on it.
I'll take pics if you really need them.

I put on my HFP lip (cleaned it really well), a day later it was coming off. I remove all the crappy factory adhesive, used this.
No probs, even had it washed afterward (about 15 minutes later) at a carwash no probs. This is good Sh*t.

This will work, if you can find the blue, it's a little thicker.

Use the widest you can get away with. 45 mil thickness or greater.
The blue is the best, don't see it on that site. The 3M site sux.
Just go to a Collision Shop, they will prob give you some.
