ok....
do u want a car? a stadium truck or a truck? buggie?
next question is ... will u see competition?

hands down the best truck = traxxas revo ... overall best for bashing or racing
basher of all time = traxxas t-max or u can get a savage ... traxxas seems to have the best aftermarket support though...

fastest street car = schumacher fusion ... not much aftermarket support. mine was clocked at 100+ and was still increasing speed after slight mods ...

good starter street car = anything hpi, traxxas 4tec, cen ... all pretty much do the same out of the box about 70mph ... and good for beginers ... and they can all be upgraded to all out racers ...

staduim trucks are kick ass fun for wheelies and so on ... traxxas jato is crazy, hpi hellfire is the new big boy in town, schumacher has a crazy fast, out of control stadium truck(can't remember the name) ... traxxas also has the rustler but the jato pretty much took over from that.

where buggies are concerned... these are a lot of fun and can be modded nicely and turned into all out racers, they are typically more expensive though...very well built and strong... traxxas doesn't have one(1/10scale)... ofna, mugen seiki are just 2 of the good ones... can't remember the name of the other brands out there... they'll cost u.

oh... they aren't nitrous... lol ... they are nitro as in they use nitro methane fuel ...

any more questions... feel free.

i have a lot a technical as well as racing experience under my belt as far as nitro or electric rc cars. i've been into rc cars for a 12 yrs and have a minor sponsorship...marvie's post is a good starting point if you're a beginner but if you want something more upgradable or tunable you may want to go with some of the bigger name companies like kyosho, jammin', losi, associated elec., and so...if you have any questions feel free to hit me up. check out my rides...

my new rc toy

300 bucks will not equal 75mph out any box in this rc world ... they lied.

I started off and still have my Traxxas T-maxx 2.5

You need to decide what you want first as Marvie stated. I went with a monster truck because I wanted to drive places other than the street. It has a fully adjustable suspension and along with street tires it will handle great.
Prices start at about 450 and top speed around 45. I need to upload some vids....I jumped my Dodge Intrepid front to back with it! Some fun vids to watch can be found at www.slapmafro.com

i'd get a truck too.... tmax or revo ...

after much experience with all of the above.....
i've come to this....
cars = too much speed, not enough space, not enough smooth road to have fun

stadium trucks = nice speed, a lot of fun and wheelies, go through tires easilly, kinda week when they crash ...even if u upgrade to aluminum etc.

buggies = make u get hooked and want more speed, more upgrades, they can bash a lot but take a real toll on them, they very well rounded but make u want to get into the hobby more ...

truck = speed, on and off road, great bashers, great racers, high modability, all round fun ... like car, stadium truck and buggy all in one ... to me in the rc world u just can't beat a truck ... can be a dragster, rock climber, basher, stadium truck if u get a rear diff etc etc .... it's just all round fun ...

that was my experience ...

but i'd get a car again just so i can customize bodies ...

I was destroying my aluminum as well until I changed to titanium. Very expensive but I'm not replacing the parts like I was with aluminum

I want a car too now that I have an Si so I can make a mini-me

Hmm... maybe I should finally get an RC car. Only thing holding me back from getting a Nitro car is that they get extremely dirty (at least the one my friend did was filthy). How much of a pain is it to actually clean the entire car of all the grease/oil that it spews out?
