How mant times do you put it in D3 and then by the sound of the engine, realize this? Seems i have been doing it alot lately......

you mean leave it in D3 instead of D when your going like 55-65ish?

always use it when i go uphill and absolutely love the roar of the engine...

u can always tell when you're on d3 coz of the different sound coming from the engine. i'm actually using it now more often even on flat surface. i hope i'm not damaging my engine.

as long as you are down shifting to accelerate you will not damage anything, the car actually does this anyway when you accelerate hard. However you will start to damage things if you try and down shift to slow down in a AT.

Oh and when I had an auto I would shift through the gears on a regular basis and wish I have a manual trans.
