Am I a trader?

I was driving to the mall this past weekend and I drove by a Mazda dealership and I saw a black and red Mazdaspeed3 and I had nothing to do really so I just stopped in and took a look at them... and might I say DAMN! that thing is freaking sweet Ive never ever ever liked hatchbacks (I hated the 2001-2005 Si and everyother hatch) but this one is freaking nice! Anyways Ive hurd these things can wamp an SRT4 or hang with it so I ask the guy If I could take it for a drive he said but isnt that a brand new Si your driving I said yeah I might have made a mistake (what I told the guy). after driving this thing I did make a mistake I am now debating on trading my car in for a Black Mazdaspeed3.

Come flame me

Can't say I can flame you. I have seen the new ones and agree with you. They are nice. Nice enough to trade in my Si, NO!

Both are different cars. Depends on what you like better.

I agree. So does the Si. It all depends if you want FF or AWD.

The interior quality of the Mazda is much, much higher than our Si's, in my opinion.

Mazda has some of the nicest interiors I've seen on modern day cars.

I'm not crazy about the MS3 being the wagon version of the Mazda3, but it still looks super sharp.

I agree with the interior comment 100% I also agree with the wagon/hatchback comment but I think I could learn to like it.. everyone I have talked to that has had a hatch back said it was great.. can fit alot of things in there you cant in a reg car.. its almost like having an SUV or Truck (with a camper shell on top) granted it dont have its got turbo spishhh spishhh 260HP and 280TQ and NO TQ Steer at all!

You'r not a Trader. I think you meant traitor!!!

J/k

I've checked them out and they are pretty nice. I might have leaned that way as I like hatchbacks, but I don't have any regrets as I'm quite happy with my Si.

You might want to actually drive one before committing. Call me a cynic, but I myself didn't LOVE the test drive. They let me rip it for a bit, and it was nice, but I guess if you haven't driven a high-powered compact before, I could see why someone would be star-struck. I personally preferred the rawness of the SRT-4. I drove one before, but decided to drive one right after the MS3. And you'll miss the redline if you like the Si's 8K. I felt like the power started trailing at about 5800 RPM. Redline is like 6500 or something like that? Can't remember, but power dropped off really quickly, even worse than the 02 WRX my buddy has. Or had.

So are you interested just because it can hang with srt4's? Honestly i love the si and wouldnt trade it for anything right now. I had a 2005 base rsx and traded it in for a 06 350Z. For some reason the Z although alot more powerful then any honda i have ever owned, got boring really fast and i just wasnt happy with it .I regret that everyday and so i went back to the honda family and got my 06 Si. Sometimes HP isnt everything and alot of people get caught up with numbers and other shit that they sometimes forget about other things. I guess do what you think its best for you.

Angry

Come on, admit it. This car (the Si) needs like 100 more HP. It's slow and laggy and would only benefit from more power. Power IS everything, and driving my G35 this weekend reiterates this point. I know, we all love our buzzy little Si (sorry, would kill myself if I owned any other version of the Civic) but the guy who wrote that his 350Z was boring compared to the Si is smoking crack. The Z is a much better car with a ton more HP.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that if I don't get a turbo in this thing soon (All Jap is the place, but that's another story) it's going up for sale or into a wall.

I applaud anyone who gets another car with added HP, we should have from the get-go from Honda.

look at this....how much you loose is you trade your car in? how much for the insurance and the monthly for the car....

if you get a turbo for the SI...youll be spankin that new mazdaspeed3 all day long.

Too much power in a FWD vehicle sucks and is unstable. With FWD power is limited and you could probably only go up to 235HP+ MAX,mabe a bit more but 300+ in FWD is very unstable. I would much rather have AWD because AWD can handle much more power and is more stable plus power is unlimited with AWD and RWD.
