Dirty motha' cops!!!
I just heard tonight that my brother/sister inlaw
got pulled over by the police (unmarked car) because they were suspicious by driving around the block. Then because my brother inlaw was driving the car (sister inlawas brand new Accord) had no license gets a fine (now this is the fair part...) but then the cop tells them to get out of the car which also included thier 9 year old daughter Autumn. The ****** cop impounds the car, tells them to walk home! WTF!!! This happened in Penticton BC Canada!

A. I cruise all over the place, not once did i get harrased for it!!
B. If i got a ticket for no license and my wife was the passenger, The cops here would give me a ticket and make her drive the car. But in no way would the cops make us walk home? I would be calling the superior to this officer and might even consider calling the media on this BS. And to boot....The 9 year old girl was sick as a fcuking dog!! Prick COP! |

ok... couple questions:
1. why were they driving the car around with a sick child in it? if they're just going for a joyride, why take the daughter too? 2. does your brother have a criminal record? lots of unpaid tickets? (i guess making them walk is still quite extreme) 3. it's the cop's responsibility to ensure their safety - he should've dropped them off or called a cab. any reason why this was not done? 4. yes, you are entitled to call the superior right on the spot. he should've. maybe it was a new cop on a power trip? |

sorry to hear this man. Is there any chance that your brother started to get smart with the cop? I know that cops can get really pised off when people start getting an attitude. Either way that sucks and good luck to you and your family.

so, lets see if i got this right.
your BROTHER INLAW, is pulled over driving your SISTER INLAW's ( not your sister's ) Accord. Without a license. Did you mean he didnt have his license on him? OR he doesnt have a license at all? No license probably means he's not insured for that Accord. And no way his name is gonna match with the car's registration. 1-Driving W/ out a license 2-Driving W/ out insurance 3-Driving a car other than his own, that may or may not be stolen(from a cops point of view). Thats at least 2 tickets and a impound where im from. They'd probably throw you in jail too. Im sorry that your brother inlaws little girl was sick and all, but your brother inlaw made a lot of stupid decisions. Im surprised that cop let your brother inlaw go at all, and with just one ticket. Only thing ill agree with is not arranging them a ride. Thats just being a dick. |

So its not a issue of he is a licensed driver, and left his license at home... He's a UNLICENSED driver, driving around in someone else's car, with no insurance. Last time i checked, thats uh.... SUPER ILLEGAL. You better tell your brother to find a good lawyer when his court date comes up. Driving with no license + no insurance = Jail. |

Sorry, if he was driving around without a license it is his own fault for getting the car impounded. I'm sorry about the sick daughter being told to get out of the car but that is not the cop's fault. Her father shirked responsibility. He should have foreseen that driving without a license with his sick daughter in the car would have resulted in an unfortunate situation if they happened to be pulled over. He was knowingly breaking the law and didn't think about the consequences. Your brother in law forced the cop into impounding the car. The cop had no choice in the matter.
I think it is funny you believe it was no big deal he didn't have his license because he never got it. Why does that make it not a big deal, it makes it just the opposite? Driving is not your right, it is a privileged. He is lucky there wasn't a harsher punishment. If the cop did nothing to help arrange a ride and just said "walk home" and drove off then that deserves a complaint and compensation. Though somehow I doubt that's what the cop did. |
